(10/22/2017) I know Willys jeeps can be underpowered at time, but calling the engine a Mohowk Chief just doesn’t seem right.

“For sale 1948 jeep willys. Jeep recently restored. Motor is a 1948 mohock chief. About 400 miles since restoration. If interested please email or call. Price is $15,500 obo or possible trade for 1968-1974 corvette.”

“We have had our FC150 at the farm doing work since we purchased it 5 years ago. I once heard somebody describe the FC150 as a “Tractor with a cab and heater”! This is a very accurate statement! This Jeep truly goes anywhere! I have never had it stuck or even struggle thru our deep ravines and hills! But over the last year we haven’t used it as much as we use to and decided its time to sell.

The Jeep appears to have its original engine which runs great! It starts easily if you start it every day or two but if you leave it sit for a week or so then it takes a little primer (a shot of carb cleaner) to get it started. It shifts thru all four gears with no issues and idles well. A tune up was done about a year ago which consisted of new plugs, oil and carburetor rebuild. I also removed and cleaned the fuel tank and replace the fuel pump and filter. I am not sure what the top speed of the vehicle is but my guess would be 40 -45 mph. The 4 wheel drive works great! It has the lock out hubs but I have never switched them and assume they work.

All hydraulics work great! The pump is powered by a PTO which is activated by a hand pull. The winch works great( I have never been stuck but stretched the cable out and rewound it by pulling the jeep backwards). The snow plow moves up and down smoothly but I have never had a blade on it. And of course the custom diamond plate dump bed works awesome! I have loaded the back end full of red oak-drove out of the woods-backed up to my wood pile and dumped the entire contents with no problems!

UPDATE: **SOLD** for $6000 on eBay.

Desert Dogs on an FC. Probably never see that again!

“Engine – Hurricane 4 (out of 1961 Jeep)
3 speed manual transmission with low range
Vin # OH78015283
Navy blue – Black vinyl seats and trim
14,318 miles on odometer but true mileage unknown

I am selling my 1959 Jeep to make room in my garage for a boat. This is also my first sale on E-Bay so I have added links to videos of the truck in the description below. The Jeep has been restored and runs well. I have owned the vehicle since 1997 and it has spent most of the time in my heated garage when not driven. I purchased it from a neighbor who did the restoration for his wife who did not like it and would not drive it. The restoration took place between 1996 and 1997 and cost him over $10k at that time.

The major part was an almost new engine that was put in out of a 1961 Jeep CJ that only had 6,000 miles on it and that was used for snow plowing at a funeral parlor. This engine was purchased from Ray Galassi Jeep in Chicago, one of the original Jeep dealers. When you hear the engine you will know it’s in excellent shape. The body was repainted at the same time but is now showing some rust spots and paint peeling. Many parts were repaired or replaced in 1996. Continue reading

1948 CJ-2A Sioux Falls, SD $9800

• CATEGORIES: CJ-2A This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

Looks in good shape.

“Restored Jeep from ground up. Original power train gone through and flat head four cylinder runs like a watch and uses no oil. Brakes at the wheels need some work as they leak fluid slowly. Probably just bleeder plugs. Other that that very nice. I would call it excellent condition. This is a civilian version of the Army Jeeps used in war time. It also has a new Holley fuel pump. Other than that, it is true to the period. It has 113 miles on the build. It has a clear title.”
