About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
(03/11/2017) Has an OD. Looks like the steps have been altered.
“Original 1947 jeep willy, runs & is drivable, all original parts besides seats and windshield, splitter (two transmissions), very rare, clean title. Pick up only! located in payson, cash only!!”
Thanks go to Jason King for documenting his family’s jeeping adventure from last weekend!
Jason writes, “This past Saturday the King family held our 7th Annual Sweetwater Run Jeep Rally in beautiful Parke County, Indiana (Covered Bridge Capital of the World). Family members came from as far away as Minnesota and Missouri to enjoy this yearly event.
Some of the older jeeps attending this year . . .
. . . . and some of the newer jeeps.
The morning started off with a timed run on a pre-determined 10-mile route planned out by the hosts of the rally in their 46’ CJ2A some weeks earlier. The plan was for each of the 8 Jeeps to leave 5 minutes apart with at least a driver and navigator. Each navigator had a copy of the mapped route and was responsible for keeping the time clock for their respective vehicle. The the Jeep closest to the official time clocked by the hosts of the rally received a first place prize box full of moon pies. The timed event was enjoyed by all and should continue for years to come.
The timed event was followed by a wonderful cookout on a new Jeep fire pit made by my brother-in-law (he takes orders if anyone is interested). Shortly after the cookout we travelled east through Rockville to Bridgeton passing a few covered bridges along the way, stopped for ice cream and proceeded on to Mansfield Covered Bridge before returning home. “1951 Willys CJ3A with Arctic hard top . It is military themed and complete, no rust, mostly original, great running (purrs!)
Flat head 134 engine with 3speed trans and warn hubs. Everything works . Tires are all new.
Included in the price is my m416 trailer which is fully restored to match the jeep and will only be sold with the jeep at agreed full price.”
Listed as an M-38, it looks more like a replacement body on a CJ-3A-like frame. There’s no hinge for the grille and no battery box.
“Jeep runs great. Starts right up every time
4cyl but not stock. It is some type of gm 4cyl I think.
New tires
New seats
Good glass
Needs steering bolted down. Its in but needs to be made solid. And needs lights reconnected. And trans cover and gass pedal put in. And that is it. Im pretty sure it can be driven onto a trailer as it sits. But has to be all bolted up to be driveable on road
I have all thats needed to finish.
Take it cheap now or as i finish things the price will rise. Either way is fine with me bc i am in no hurry.
I will not bargain on price.
. trades considered”
Seller’s not sure of the year, but based on the serial number it appears this is a December 1964 CJ-5. It is supposed to run, but the tank is in the cargo area.
“older jeep, not sure the year, runs, drives, steering needs work, bring cash and a trailer serial number8305 185665, no title or registration call”
