This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. It was a long, but productive day yesterday at the swapmeet. We had the opportunity to speak with a wide variety of people about eWillys and the Alaska Or Rust venture. I was pleasantly surprised at how many people (old, young, men and women) agreed that it was a cool idea. Many folks wish they had their old Willys together so they too could make the run with us. Still others had driven the highway and had lots of suggestions on places to see. It was a great way to spread the news about the trip.
Even better, four of the participants (me, Rob, Marty and Wade) had a chance to all meet at the same time. Somehow, we never got a photo of all of us though. Here’s are a few photos we did get:

Charles is wondering if anyone recognizes this air pump? There are no marks and the foot is pliable. He is hoping to get model information, the production year, or any other kind of info.

“1953 Willys Jeep CJ3B. Bestop soft top, roll cage, original F-head 4 cylinder motor, 3 speed manual transmission, transfer case and axles. Runs and drives. Starts every time. Body is original and 99% rust free. Only rust is near passenger taillight. Clear title in my name. $4500.00 obo. Local pickup and cash only. Don’t need help selling. If this listing is still up the Jeep is still available. Will remove when sold.”

“Selling my willys. When I bought it I was told it was a 1953 willys cj3a but someone who came because they needed a cj3- says it is actually a 1948 cj2a with a cj3a windshield. Either way It is a willys project. floor boards have been replaced. Only reason I’m selling is because I have too many projects. 4cyl engine partially installed – never heard it run but makes compression when turned over by hand. its still a 6v system. have the generator, but no starter. Solid – has some rust underneath but well worth the time and effort. no title bill of sale only. ”
