“Selling my wheeler project. I have a 1953 cj3a flat fender that has been fully disassembled down to bare frame. There is no motor, tranny, or T-case but comes with stock axels. The tub is in decent shape has some rust in floor. Text for pics. The friend I got this from can’t find the title but it is I her name.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $6500
(10/05/2016) Craig spotted this one. It looks like there has been some body work.
“1955 willys wagon only 814 made with this super hurricane straight six engine. It runs perfectly and quietly. 3speed on the column. Completely gone over from plugs and wires to oil bath. Has electric fuel pump. New wiring harnes from front to back with cloth covering to look original. Upgraded to 12 v system with reducer for gauges. New drums, brakes, bearings and tires. New fuel lines and gas tank. Heater was rebuilt and blows very hot. Everything mechanical has been done so far. The body would be next but if I start that the price will go up. Very rare vehicle that could be an addition for someone that knows about Willys. $6,500.”
It’s a project that includes a Warn winch. If it has been parked before the “mountain blew”, it means it was parked prior to May of 1980 (36 years ago).
“1963 Willys CJ.
Parked since before the mountain blew.
283, warn winch, dual gas tanks.
Absolutely perfect windshield.
One NOS front fender.
Permanently registered on its original 63 plates.
Clean clear title in my name.
This is a project. Please don’t waste my time unless you are serious.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1500.
Are those window coverings or something welded over the windows?
“1952 Willy truck for sale good project got too many projects need to get rid of for $1,500 in cash”
The San Francisco area’s East Bay Times reported on Scott Steven’s 1942 GPW. Read all about it here: http://www.eastbaytimes.com/2016/12/05/me-my-car-42-jeep-as-spartan-as-they-come/
UPDATE: Sold for $46,750.
This 1960 DJ-3A Surrey will be auctioned in January of 2017 by Sotheby’s. The jeep is described as a “beautifully presented flawless restoration”. That statement is followed by a series of inaccurate statements regarding the history of DJ-3A, such as the DJ-3A was introduced in 1955 (nope 1956). You can see all the pics and information here:
As Colin pointed out to Sotheby’s, despite some great work on this, there are actually numerous flaws with this restoration:
Looks nice.

Sellers failed to get a state grant to complete restoration of this one.
“An authentic, 1944 U.S. Army 4cyl, Willys MB Jeep, VIN#
MB 383450 with just over 26,000 original miles. It is completely operational with many accessories, including the top, spare, tools and implements. We have brought the jeep up to approximately 90-95% operation and appearance. This jeep is show worthy but runs a little rough, determined to be a minor problem by my mechanic. The driver\’s seat was extended with a kit for steering wheel and leg comfort. I can also provide to a serious buyer all that was invested in the restoration.
We are selling this Willys MB because, we were unable to get any Kentucky grant funding for acquisition and the full restoration; Our personal investment had reached its limit.”
