Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Tom shared this video he assembled. It captures a memorial project he and his son completed recently, a remembrance of nine airmen who were killed in a B-52 crash. Part of their effort required the use of Tom’s CJ-3A.

Paul bought this FJ-3 back in 2014. He’s restored it beautiful. He wrote: “Her new home is in Orange County, California. This FJ3 is now a daily driver and is used both in my business, and as a fun vehicle to take to shows and cruises. It is looking a little different now. It is still running the original engine and transmission. The rear end is now a freshly rebuilt Dana 44 with taller gears so it can do a decent highway. On the exterior, all the rusty metal has been replaced and the rear side windows have been removed. The rear door is still a wood roll-up, but it is now clad with aluminum sheet to make it maintenance free.”

“64 Willys Parkway, 318 engine, 4 wheel drive, overdrive, pto operated winch, everything runs great, and is mostly original, came off Roswell Airforce Base, NM, in the late 60’s early 70’s, SW car until 2014, clear title……would like to trade for FC 170 dump, either flatbed or standard bed. (08/11/2016) “Willys Jeep GWF, manufactured by Ford. I am 3rd owner. Restored to daily driver and parade participant. 1961 Jeep F head engine. WW2 Navy markings. New tires, battery. Needs brake job, but drivable if you really mash the pedal. Clean title, current license.”
