About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
“$6500 obo/possible trade. It includes two power inverters. Three Brand New Batteries and Chargers. Two New Freezers. 25 foot Flag pole that is retractable. Custom battery station. I have also recently paid a local garage $3600 to rewire and add all new electrical to the vehicle with Hi Amp Alternator and New Starter. Needless to say, it has a lot that has been done. It is a 1974 FJ-8C and very fun to drive.”
“Reluctantly I am selling my Jeepster… this is a rare opportunity to own a very rare car and even better one that needs nothing, just turn the key and go! This car is a blast to drive and a real “attention getter” too. Best of it you can’t even see… the entire drivetrain has been upgraded with a 327 V8 (from a 66′ Corvette) and a Turbo 350 Automatic transmission going to a 85′ Mustang rear. It also has Power Steering so drivability is nothing like you may expect from a vehicle this old. It rides and steers smooth around town or at highway speeds. Everything is is in excellent mechanical condition and obviously it’s always been garage kept so it’s cosmetically in great shape too (No Rust anywhere)
Only reason I am selling is that I’ve bought a 70′ Bronco to restore and need the $ and garage space. The price ($15,000) isn’t negoitable, it is worth a good bit more than that.
The vehicle has been closely inspected recently to ensure safety and everything looks great, nothing to replace in the suspension or steering and no cracks or anything in the frame. I bought a braking system upgrade from Kaiser Willy’s (see photo) and planned to install when the current brakes need to be replaced. This will be yours and conveys with the vehicle.”
Not sure why the seller thinks this is a 1949 or why the engine is a 1951.
“1949 Willys jeep / with 1951 Willy jeep engine. I bought this jeep at an auction with the idea I was going to redo the whole thing and make it really nice again , I have replaced the entire suspension, leaf springs , shocks and some brackets, brand new radiator, battery, newer tires etc. I have converted it from a 6 volt system to a 12 volt system, much nicer and reliable. Remember it is 65 years old, not in perfect condition, but in good condition, runs and no mechanical issue that I know of, does have seals that leak but work, I planed to change them but did not get to it. Don’t have the time to spend on it that I would like. I have over $4000 in it. Asking $3000 or best offer.”
Looks good for the price. Includes a rear ARB locker.
“1955 Chevrolet 265 V8 Engine
Rochester 2-barrell carburetor
T90 3speed transmission
Dana 18 Transfer Case
Dana 30 front axle, 3.54 gears, Disc Brakes (from mid 80s CJ7) (will need a re-gear to match rears)
AMC 20 Rear axle, 4.10 gears, Drum Brakes (from mid 80s CJ7)
Rear ARB Locker (needs air compressor installed)
Full Roll Cage welded to the frame
Bucket Racing Seats
5 point harnesses
New steel rims and Goodyear A/T Tires (235s)
Lights and signals all work
Drives and stops fine, but could use a tune-up. I’m getting a slight sputter/carb backfire at high rpm
**I have a spare, freshly rebuilt SM420 4-speed transmission with crawl gear and a freshly rebuild Dana 300 T-case ready to be bolted in. If interested, will include for an additional $500 for both.”
“This 42 willy has mostly new and upgraded safety parts, body is original needs work to be perfect . No shipping… call Bob for more details on all that has been done.”
