About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
(09/13/2016) Not many of these original stock CJ-3As in this unrestored condition.
“Willys Jeep for sale, excellent all original condition, no rust through or rot. The only items not original are the wheels and tires. This is a true barn house find. Vehicle has spent its life on a ranch and has been started and driven on a regular basis. Cons: leaks oil from engine.”
Jeremy has these solid-letter desert dogs for sale. He had them on his CJ-2A, but removed them for smoother tires. The side walls look in great shape, but the tread certainly has some wear. These are very difficult to find in California or anywhere else for that matter. Even in the PNW it is difficult, unless you know some folks. Email him at jeremylenser@sbcglobal.net for more info.
It’s an expensive project. This is in a condition similar to a couple others I bought.
“Selling a very early (one of the first 500) Austin Champs. This has been a California car for many years and has been off the road since 1978. It still has its original black and yellow license plates. This would be a great project. It is complete with its original engine, and spares.”
“i have a 1947 jeep willys $4000.00 this jeep runs and drives only needs a battery and a water pump. has mods v-6, and power steering. brakes just redone. good tires. clear title registered non-op. i know a little about these jeeps so will try to answer specific questions as best i can. come and test drive, trailer it home. if you like i have a truck and trailer for hire locally. motivated seller. no crazy low ball offers please. thank you in advance for you consideration”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1800. I just noticed it has a PTO bar on the back.
I can’t tell for sure, but the extra rectangular data plate could indicate this was a reconditioned jeep. That could also be an explanation for the MB engine in the GPW chassis.
“I have a 1942 ford gpw that was made in April a 42 it is a script body has the t84 transmission that will shift has a willys MB engine im it Believe to be locked up has a title jeep will need a full restorations has some floor pans that are rusted through”
(08/26/2016) Runs. Has an f-head, but seller has an l-head, too.
“I got a M38 that the previous owner installed the engine out of a CJ-3B into it and as such it makes the carburetor stick out thru the hood. They also installed a hood scoop on it which was really big, so I cut it off and when I did, I found the hood to not be in such good shape. So as you see in the pics there is a huge hole in the hood that I have not got around too. I have found and purchased the correct motor for it from a guy in OHIO. I don’t know if it runs or not because I haven’t had the time to mess with it either, but the engine goes with it for the price shown. The Jeep has rust on it, it has some bondo on it, the floor pan is somewhat rusted out as well. The engine in it was running when I parked it and I haven’t messed with it much. Need to sell, I don’t have time anymore to mess with it. Too busy mowing my GRASS.”
“This is an early 1947 CJ-2A with a newer one piece windshield. If you are looking for a jeep project then this is for you. Just passed emissions!
Come and take it for a drive, over $3500 invested.
Trade for 1945 — 1954 car or $3250
If I have no deal by Sunday 10/9 I’m going to plate it and drive it.”
“1951 Willys Jeep. Pre-smog. RUNS AND DRIVES! Currently registered through June of next year 2017 with clean CA title in hand. No back fees or Reg fees to deal with! Great trail rig or daily driver with a little TLC. Engine is a Buick V6 with freshly rebuilt carb. Runs strong. Lifted with 31 10.5 15 tires, dry but will get you home with full size spare. Hurst manual 3 spd. 4×4 with twin stick all work fine. Front locking hubs. Some rust but mostly surface, nothing structural. Back passenger corner has damage, see pictures. Totally weldable. No power steering or breaks, this is a real jeep! What you see is what you get, if it’s not pictured I don’t have it.”
