Greg’s got the CJ-2A for sale.
“For Sale is a 1946 Willys Cj2A with 52K original miles. It has the original 134 Cubic Inch inline 4cylinder engine, T90A 3 Speed transmission with rare column shift, Spicer 18 transfer case and Dana axles. It is 4X4 with high and low gear that work as intended. The carburetor was just rebuilt and it runs great with good clutch and brakes, the parking brake works as well. The water pump, the fuel tank and the fuel pump were just replaced. All lighting, gauges, turn signals and horn work as they should. This vehicle also has the rare heater box under the dash. This vehicle was a barn find and has just been recently repainted with olive drab green paint as you can see in the pics. It has less than expected rust for a vehicle of its age and has a very solid frame. The seats were also redone. The Jeep was recently displayed in a local car show and received numerous compliments. It is fun to drive or show. I will entertain any REASONABLE offer.”

We arrived in Salt Lake on Thursday for dinner with my youngest son, who graduated this week. On Friday, Ann departs from Salt Lake City for Pasco with my computer. Meanwhile, I’ll be heading down to the San Rafael Swell to explore a tall slotted canyon for a couple days with my oldest son, Karson. On Sunday (which is birthday 51 for me), my son and I return to Salt Lake and I’ll spend the day with my other two kids. On Monday I’ll be heading for Winnemucca, then turn north for Silver City, Idaho for a little remote mountain exploring.
That’s a quick summary of this quick trip. Though I’ll be gone, I won’t forget you all. I have posts that will appear for the days I am away :-).
Great little article by Fairfax Downey, the writer of the book Jezebel. It’s a neat short book about some of his WWII adventures. This article was published in the August 05, 1944, issue of the Spokesman-Review.

This CJ-5 powered a winch to hoist materials for a building under construction in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. It was featured in the January 1858 issue of Willys News.
