About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
“For sale by owner: 1954 Willys M38-A1 Jeep. All original. Does not run, but has all the original parts. It was running when it was parked in 2010 and was painted yellow over the Army green because the original owner who got it from the military sale used it while working on a road construction crew. I intended to restore it, but have never got to start because of health reasons. It is a military vehicle that has never been titled. ”
“1974 mail jeep right hand drive was going paint and fix got some done motor runs good trans leaks alittle needs some wireing done just got to many projects i traded on job”
Appears to need rear lights? Most definitely could use some paint.
“CJ-2a, virtually original. Had this unit many years…..2 extra engines, another trans, plus other sweet accessories and extras…….(Originally Maroon, it was painted yellow before I had it) This is a real nice find, folks…….”
“RESTORED: Keeping it as near as original as possible with minor upgrades. Date restored August Dec.-2014. Not an off frame, frame did not have any rust issues, the cab and body sanded down to bare metal primed several times, very small amount of rust. The bed was removed, the floor was replaced with -3/4” treated plywood and covered with beautiful Oak hardwood finished with Golden Oak stain and Helmsman Spar Urethane.
(11/04/2014) Has a couple updates and a patch in the rear. Runs and drives.
“46 Willys for sale. In great shape. Little rust on the under side can be fixed. Floor boards and body in good shape. Interior also in good shape. Has the original engine and runs strong. Brand new rims and tires. And a complete extra set. All fluids changed and filters. Also tune up was done. Make me an offer. No lo ballers please. Serious interest only.”
Seems like there may be value here. It’s supposed to have a rear PTO, but nothing protrudes from the back.
“Buick V6. Frame in very good condition. Body is decent. Restoreable or drive as is. Has rear pto. Extra Trans and case. New and used parts to go with it. Call for details. Needs little work to run. Clean gas tank.

We’ve seen a poorer quality version of this photo. Here’s a better scan of the June 1955 photo from Willys News with the caption in tact. Though the caption doesn’t mention the movie name, it probably refers to the movie released in 1956 called the Proud and Profane.
Deborah Kerr (I think) on the left and Thelma Ritter on the right. Note the lack of a rear floating hub, which suggests the jeep in the background wasn’t a MB or GPW. Brett noted it’s probably a M-38.

if you like to be in parades, this is the ride for you. this jeep has been in three parades so far this year.
Very good off road. this was the original off road vehicle.”
“I found this sitting in a field here locally in Enterprise very good shape for sitting outside for so long but is by no means a perfect 10 . This would be a good base for a restoration project or just a good all purpose work vehicle around the farm or ranch or whatever. I have got the unit sitting at a local shop where it is currently awaiting some repairs, work done so far rebuilt carb, fuel filter, oil change, new spark plugs, distributor repair, is awaiting front brake repair for they are alittle sticky. I have driven this but it will be a lot better when the brakes get repaired. It had some bad fuel in it and while most of it was drained it does run alittle rough but I feel as more good gasoline is added it will smooth out . It currently does not shift into third but am working to trace this problem out but it may not all get done by the time this auction is over. This jeep does put a smile on your face to drive just because its a great ol’ classic and you just do not see many of these that much anymore. I do have the title for it and it is clean.”
