About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
It runs. The driver’s side fender looks custom/repaired.

It look like the body is a DJ body. It’s listed as a 1946.
“I had visions of doing a frame off restoration and giving this to my dad…..sadly, I will NEVER get to it, so it seems. As it sits, I have removed the tub. it is solid with little to no rust. motor and tranny are pulled as well. both spin freely but presumably need a rebuild. have some spare parts, including 2 windshield frames, 2 grills, 2 steering boxes etc. it’s a solid base to start your Willy’s project.”
Looks like a 520 Koenig Jiffy Cab with vertical doors.

“I have a1948, a 1949 and a 1960 Willys Pickups. The 49 is very rough, has been wrecked but still has some useable parts. No motor or trans. The 1948 model has no motor or trans , the body is in good shape, very little rust, has been media blasted and primed. The frame is pretty clean and looks like someone had started restoration. The 1960 is all there, flathead Hurricane 6 cylinder, turns over. Bed is rough but decent cab. I DO HAVE TITLES FOR ALL 3 ,$2800 or best offer for all 3”
” have for sale a parts jeep that is a Willys m38 military jeep. It has been converted to 12 volt. It does not have a title. The seats that are in it a not fastened to the jeep. The engine is a RMC m38 correct engine, the transmission and transfer case are the original military units. It has the correct m38 radiator. I did run this jeep off of a service tank. The engine does have some blowby. It has some rust through and has been cut on. This is a parts jeep or farm or trail jeep only. Please look at the pictures carefully. If this ad is up, it is still available.”
(02/20/2016) It’s a project. The windshield frame appears to be home made.
“Awesome Vintage 1949 CJ 2 Willy Jeep. Needs repaired. Flat Head 4 cylinder engine (rebuilt) but never started. Rebuilt starter with new ring gears. Have more parts not shown in photos. Will negotiate”
Adam shared this news: In two weeks seven 40s and 50’s Willys jeeps will be traveling 1900 miles to Easter Jeep Safari. They take off March 10th from Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and arrive in Moab March 21st. The website and Facebook page will have daily videos and pictures from the journey. The willys will then be on display at Moab 4×4 outpost all week. Let’s wish them luck. I’m sure they’ll have some memorable adventures.
UPDATE: Jay has got this book for sale. Comment below for more info.
It is Jeeper’s Jeep by Francis Baker. Here’s the description:
“Tokyo: Toppan Co, Ltd, 1949 FIRST EDITION, FIRST PRINTING, of a charming collection of satirical genre prints à la japonaise: These are meant to represent some of “the humorous experiences of the occupation which the Jeep–certainly a symbol of the period, has enabled it [ie, the Occupation] to see.”
The author has recorded her impressions of American occupied Japan and various scenes of the occupation as she travelled the country by Jeep.
In all there are twenty-four prints accompanied by doggerel couplets on facing pages, together with two additional prints on the covers. The artist is best known as Frances Blakemore. She grew up in eastern Washington and worked mainly in Tokyo (both before and after the war), where she founded the Franell Gallery and published the standard Who’s who in modern Japanese prints (1975).
Binding: Publisher’s quarter red boards, color-pictorial sides, pictorial endpapers, all edges trimmed & plain
Condition: Spine barely chipped, inside clean, joints cracked but holding, outisde has shelf wear. AN UNUSUALLY VERY GOOD COPY of a scarce and fragile book.
Pictures include front and back of book, inside cover page, one of the full page drawings, and prologue.

“It is in good condition. It has a clear title. Tires are old and dry. Lights work. The bed has a bit of rust. Mostly surface rust. The tailgate is home made.”
