This photo and article was published in the August 29, 1957, issue of the Reading Eagle from Reading, Pennsylvania. It looks to be a CJ-2. It sounds like it has been refurbished into a brush fire-fighting jeep. The article indicates this would be called Jeep No. 11, yet it is labeled Jeep No. 1.

1954 CJ-3B Boydton, VA $8000
UPDATE: Still Available. Was $8000. Now no price.
(10/24/2014) Seller got this fixed up, but has some physical problems entering and exiting.
“I bought this a few years ago, the engine had just been overhauled and had about 100 miles on it. I sent it out and had the entire thing gone over. New generator, starter, regulator, entire brake system, New seals bearings on drive train, tires, glass, spare tire and holder, and the list goes on. It is all original. Door panels and seats already done. New glass, but I need to install it, also has a soft top. Drives great and runs even better. I did the entire Jeep in Black and red because I was going to keep it. You can paint it whatever color you want.
After putting the doors back on I found I can’t get in or out of it as I am handicapped. Will trade for an antique car to restore, 1930 or older, and prefer a 4 door but 2 will do as long as it seats at least 5 people.
I never planned on letting this go, so most all the money was spent on mechanical work. Body was sanded and primed but I liked the flat black and just left it.
I said it is all original, but I did make a few changes. The floor starter is disabled and has a push button on the dash, and I refused to re-install the vacuumed windshield wipers. Also I was in the process of installing a spare battery with a switch on the dash, The switch and wires are with the car.”

Odd Vehicle Santa Margarita, CA **SOLD**
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $5900. Still not sure what it is.
“We are not quite sure what to call this vehicle. It probably started out as a Willys Americar, then was transformed into it’s present shape by a Cal Poly welding professor (or so the story goes). It has a 4-cylinder flathead engine that turns freely and a stick shift transmission. Notice the custom dash in the pics. There is a small trunk with a spare on the back. Still has the black license plates, so we can assume that it was driven on the highway at some point in it’s life. Would make a real cool run-about or ranch vehicle. Has the original hubcaps. Will need lots of TLC to get it back on the road, but what a hoot – friends will love it. We are certain that it is the only one of it’s kind in the world. I am William of bidslo.com and you can find all sorts of other fantastical vehicles on our website. Have a great day.”
