About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
“This 1950 truck was the first Fire truck for the Linwood, Minnesota Fire Department. It Has had a lot of work done to it recently. We had it running about a year ago, so the engine is good.”
This truck includes a set of original ‘summer hubs’ from Warn.
“I just purchased 5 Willys Jeep trucks for a good price with the caveat that they be removed asap. Unfortunately, I only have room to keep one, so I’m thinning the herd, and this truck is by far the most restorable of the bunch. I would keep it but don’t want to butcher this truck with a diesel motor and 5-speed as it is so original and unmolested. Instead I’ll use one of the others that has already been modified. This 1955 truck hasn’t ran in years, and the title is lost so the purchaser will have to deal with DMV. The odometer says 44,000 miles and based on the condition of the truck, it may be accurate. It has surface rust where the sun has burned the original Julip Green metallic paint, but has never had body work or bad rust. It does have a few minor dings. The bed is straight and rust free, and the tailgate is straight as well. The rear window is broken and the passenger side has a crack. Don’t know about the drivers widow as it is rolled down and I haven’t messed with it. It has the 226 six and appears to be complete with the exception of the air filter. The drivetrain is completely stock-it still has the original wheels and hubs. The floorboards are solid, no rust holes or gaping cuts from poorly done transmission swaps. It still has the glass running lights and chrome bezels. In the pics some of the original gauges are missing, but I believe that I have them in a box. The original front chrome bumper is decent as well.
I’ve been watching Craigslist for the last five years since buying my 1948 Willys truck, and have seen dozens of Willys trucks come and go. They are not rare, but I’ve only seen a few that were this original and unmolested. The vast majority get beat to death hauling firewood or concrete, or worse, get turned into “extreme” 4x4s…
Update!!! There are four gauges in the dash that are not original. Fairly well done, just not original. The motor does not turn freely. I casually tried to turn it by the belt but it did not turn. If I am reading it correctly, the VIN number indicates that this truck is a 1955. This truck also has a set of vintage Warn “summer hubs” in the original “Warn” box sitting on the original bench seat. Bonus.”
“Willys CJ2a with F134 overhead valve engine. The carb is from an old Falcon and so no hole has been cut into the hood. This Jeep is fairly complete and ran when parked (at the time it needed an accelerator pump in the carb). This has had some metal repaired and will need additional work and tlc but can be run as is. Original L134 type engine is available for $500.00.”
It’s a project. I have great memories of Hayden in the summer.
“1948 Willys Jeep Cj2A for parts or restoration. I picked this up for a restoration project over 20 years ago and still haven’t gotten around to it. Someone else might as well have some fun with it.”
“Selling my 1944 jeep willys 4×4 327 small block chevy bored .030 over. Rancho suspension new 33″ tires on 15×10 wheels. Rebuilt transfer case geared low for crawling. Needs wiring finished for lights. Nylon gas tank mounted in rear. This thing is killer. Call txt email Jeremiah. Thanks for looking.”
“These rims came off a 1970’s Ford van with a wide five lug bolt pattern. They will fit other year Dodge/Ford trucks.vans.Ramchargers. The tires have good traction with some dry rot. Tire size is 31×10.50 R15 LT. I also found all the lug nuts. Measuraments are 5 1/2 center holes on five lug bolt pattern.”
Seller thinks this is a steal, but this is clearly a parts jeep. Of course, not used in WWII.
“1948 Willys Jeep running gear. Has everything but engine, grille and radiator. Comes with 2 sets of fenders, 2 hoods, and 2 windshields, and 2 sets of tires. All are original parts. The extra hood and set of fenders are from a 1943 Willys Jeep. All sheet metal needs repaired. The frame appears to be in good condition. These Jeeps are beautiful when restored and can go for big bucks! This is a steal! These Jeeps were the common vehicle used in WWII! Wanting $500 obo and will entertain any trades. Prefer texting and emails. Thanks!”
“Jeep is in parts. Frame has been restored. Engine/trans/transfer case are sitting on a moving dolly. Wheels are painted harvest tan with new non directional tires. Body is there but needs major work (the tub is a frankenstein of two jeeps). Extra parts come with the jeep include extra engine block, generator, springs (I think to a cj5), and whatever else is sitting with it. Needs someone to finish the restoration. Bill of sale only. $1600 OBO”
UPDATE: This is a CJ-5 listed as a CJ-3B. See reader comments below concerning this jeep.
“This a great deal for a very nice jeep. It is mainly all original and in great shape. Especially for being 58 years old. The body has very little rust and no dents or dings. It has been very well kept with only 21,965 miles on it. Please text or email your questions. More pics available upon request. Thanks and God Bless!”
