Runs, drives, plows, and has a hardtop. Body has rust.

“Hi I am posting my 1962 Jeep willys cj5. This jeep comes with the original Kelly All Steel hardtop and the original Fisher Speedcast plow. This jeep is bone stock and all original. The body is rusted out from sitting outside. There are body patches in some parts of the body. This jeep runs and driver great, I plowed with it all winter. Battery holds charge fine. All headlights and parking lights work, so do the blinkers. The taillights need to be re wired. The jeep also needs a brake job. This jeep has under 40,000 original miles!! Frame and drivetrain are close to mint condition. I have the original title that will come with the jeep!!”

“FIRST $600.00 takes it or an interesting trade. ASAP

Save this Willys. We have stored this inside for 20 years and outside for the last two and it is time to find it a good home. The hood and fenders (not pictured) are in good shape the tailgate, windshield, and body have been filled over the years. The Jeep has a small block V-8, which is a boat anchor, but the parts to switch are presumably there. It has only one wheel, the rest appropriated for other uses before we got it. I won’t give it away and would consider interesting trades. Consulting Jeep parts and restoration sites – the hood and fenders are worth something. It is not titled but the dash plate is there. 1943 is a guess. Half money from a restoration site for the hood, grill, fenders, and tailgate is $800. Plus the drive line, etc. is worth something. Don’t need to get all of that and would like to sell soon”

Pic of the Week: Jarvis Jeeps

UPDATE: In a comment below Claudia mentioned that Jarvis Jeep had a very catchy jingle: Beep Beep Jarvis Jeep. Apparently, that jingle was played a lot in Oregon as a variety of folks from Oregon have mentioned it on the internet. I tried to find a commercial with jingle, but no luck. Also, at one time Jarvis Jeep was the largest jeep dealer in the nation. If I’d realized Robert Jarvis was still alive I’d have tried to contact him. Unfortunately, he passed away this past April.

Apparently, he was quite the character and boxer. According to the article in this magazine, during a boxing tournament in 1946 Rocky Marciano broke his hand on Bob’s head. After which, they became life long friends. (go here to learn more and then search for ‘Jarvis’.)
