About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
“Old postal jeep for sale or trade.
This is a project.
RHD
Brand new bfg tires all around
It does run and drive but has 2 major issues.
1) the steering is very loose.
2) pulls bad to one side while braking.
“This is a running jeep.
4×4 works great
New tires and solex carburetor.
Does not overheat and has great oil pressure. It comes with brand new gauges to be installed.
It also comes with extra transmission and transfer case housing.
The floor pans are rusted and have been glassed.
The brakes were working but need repair.
No title, Bill of sale only.
Great for historically correct restoration, or for the trails.
May negotiate. Will consider trades for a mustang or expedition”
The body looks like it is a 3A front with a CJ-5 rear.
“1953 Willys CJ3A, I think I am the 3rd owner. I have owned it for 23 years or so. It has less than 500 miles on a frame off rebuild. Frame was sandblasted, industrial enamel painted, springs re-arched and rebuilt. Engine 60 HP L head, had crank and cam align-board, freeze plugs replaced, bearings and seals, pistons, rings, and rods, new oil pump, valves and seats, distributor bushing, clutch pres. plate, pilot bushing, throwout bearing, total rebuild of trans, including synchromesh, and all bearings.
Transfer case bearings and mainshaft, rearends, u-joints, all steering knuckles, bendix drive joints, wheel bearings, new lockout hubs, rebuilt steering box and rebushed steering column, master cylinder, wheel cylinders, replaced all brake lines, upgrade to 11 in. brakes and brake kit (springs, etc.), drums, (5) new tires, and wheels. Original radiator rodded out and cleaned. Has soft top and doors, bikini top, roll cage, fold and tuck rear seat, Lincoln electric bucket seats, but have original seats also (see photo). Has 12V. 3-wire alternator, new battery. Is key start and has brushes replaced and armature turned in starter. Original metal body (branded) fenders and hood. No dents (to speak of). Did not do any body and paint because I wanted to use it in the desert, and had I done so, my wife would not want it “scratched”. Has been garaged with all 3 owners. I have many of the old parts that were replaced. ”
Glenn spotted this. He wrote, Bet you’re wondering why this relates to DJ3A? This Indy located parts car might help with some very hard to find stuff such as 15″ four stud wheels, most brake parts, and probably more. These wheels are not a perfect match to the DJ3A wheel, but work perfectly and accept the big W hub caps. This is up for best offer and sounds like you can tell the seller to keep his engine etc. When you’re done pickin’ Willys Goodies, you still have first edition Nash Rambler stuff to sell.
“I have a 1947 Willy’s jeep that I put a stainless steel body on. Has rebuilt willy’s motor.disk brakes,’89 front and rear differential, new gear box, custom built 20 gal gas tank, very nice seats. maybe has 6000 miles on running gear. this jeep has taken two seconds and one first at car shows. I am the 2nd owner. I have the original title. I use this jeep for jeeping and show.”
