Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. This 1955 photo highlights the use of a CJ-5 to pickup golf balls at a driving range.
Apparently the Heinz Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, hosted celebrated D-Day festivities by hosting WWII vehicles, including some jeeps.

This was a project vehicle and I have well over $4200.00 invested. The Jeep has new wiring, tires, pressure plate, clutch, shocks, brakes, master cylinder and lines, gas tank, drive shafts, yokes, seals, gauges, tail lights and much more. The body is in good condition for the age with some areas of rust. The manual lockout 4WD is absolutely awesome. The engine is very strong.”
