About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
The engine’s not a flathead, as the seller indicates, but it is supposed to have been rebuilt. This might be worth a look for parts.
“I am trying to help my dad sell this Jeep. He had intentions to build but never got around to it. Approximately 1952. Has rebuilt L4 flat head engine. Needs tires, brakes, & rear drive shaft. Engine has never been ran since rebuild. $700 obo”

Its registered in ME as an antique auto, runs great, pretty much goes any where you want to go, it will climb anything. Ive got lots of extras lying around; soft top, spare axles, brake parts (including disc brake conversion for front), grill, drive shafts, back seat, etc. I have put more than $6000 in this jeep in the last three years with its most recent rebuild. My local jeep mechanic that’s known of the vehicle since its original rebuild 28 years ago says that its worth all of $5000, if not more. motivated to sell and let it go to the next fun seaking off roader.”
“I have a M38 Willys Jeep that I have started to restore so it is partially disassembled. The engine and transmission is almost ready to come out to be rebuilt. The attached photos are of BEFORE restoration was started. This is not a running jeep. If you are looking for a project, this is a good one. I am not desperate to sale and will not give it away. M38’s are some of the most rare jeeps ever built. I just don’t have time right now to finish the project. If you are interested text or call me at 901-four eight two-3053. I don’t need help selling and if its still listed its still for sale. might consider trades. come look at it and make an offer”
(08/10/2013) (This engine/generator has been sitting in a barn for 5 years. I wonder if there’s a plate that marks this as a 1945 or if it’s a guess.
“1945 Willys Jeep CJ-2A 60hp Engine

“1950 Willy Overland Jeep CJ3A
The body is a little rough. It is a good hunting rig as is. The engine, transmission, transfer case and front end was all rebuilt about 10 years ago. This jeep has a 10 gallon aluminum gas tank in the back of the jeep. A metal plate has been welded into place where the tailgate once was. This unit is pretty rare because it has a stock high /low range gears on a 3 speed transmission, which means you actually have 6 forward and 2 reverse, not including when you put it into 4 wheel. All running gear is stock, engine is a flathead. This thing will climb just about anything. Since rebuild on running gear 10 years ago we have only put a cuople thousand miles on it. Notice the front picture behind the towbar! That is a Ramsey 12,000lb winch in excellent shape, you could hang this jeep in a tree with that winch. I installed a smaller winch cable since the jeep is so much lighter than the pickup it was intended for. The smaller winch cable allowed me to get more footage on the spool.”
I bought a cheap copy of the May 5, 1942, issue of Life Magazine off ebay the other day. In it I found these photos on page 8-11. It was a failed effort to slide a jeep across a river by cable.
Before I show a the hanging jeep, I wanted to share the photo below that shows some jeeps aboard a vessel of some sort.
I’ve never seen one of these trailers for sale. It appears most or all went to Southeast Asia.
“original non color sales sheet , 8.5 x 11 , shows Scotty Dispensary , Immunization Trailer Clinic as used by the Dooley Foundation in Southeast Asia. Produced by Medicoach , Oneonta , New York.”
UPDATE: Still Available. The starting price has dropped to $1300.
