(05/28/2014) Here’s a true barn find, but at a restored price.
“1946 jeep willy CJ 2 with trailer an extra rear seat. Parked in barn for winter 30 years ago an there it stayed. When parked it ran an 4/4 worked. It’s dirty an dusty. There is one rust hole I seen on passenger floor board. Time for someone else to enjoy!“
You’ll never find this unique piece of Willys equipment in a Special Equipment Catalog. It was featured in the May 1955 issue of Willys News. It has some type of geared pulley system for raising and lowering the scaffolding. OSHA approved? I wonder how many scaffolds they produced and sold . . .
This Acme Newspicture photo shows the first jeep and trailer to enter Slovenia. A soldier demonstrates the field technique for lifting a trailer with a railroad tie so his buddy can change a flat tire. I do not have an exact date this was published, but it can be seen at the fulton history site.
Yeah, it’s a little rough. However, not many of these around.
“I am listing estate found antiques this weekend so check out my other listings. This listing is for an original 1940s era Dr. Pepper sign. Sign measures 25″ tall X 13-1/4″ wide. Sign has staining, wrinkles, tears, bends etc. It has a corner detached on lower left side. This is fresh from a closet and shows normal wear and patina for an item of this vintage. Pics give an accurate portrayal of condition. See Pics. I TOOK LOTS OF PHOTOGRAPHS, BE SURE TO SCROLL ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE END OF THE AUCTION TO SEE THEM ALL!!!!”
UPDATE: Was on eBay. Status Unknown**
Lots of information on CJs and FJs in this catalog.
“This is a extremely rare American Motors Jeep dealership parts book BINDER.
It is what sat at the corner of AMC dealerships parts counters. This one is
exceptional. You will NOT see another for sale. roughly 12 pounds & over
2000 pages. Covers mostly 1962 thru 1973 Jeep. No AMX, Matador, Javelin,
JUST JEEPS. Issue date 1972. Take a look at many of the factory
illustrations. All Group Numbers. All Part Numbers. All Series! Alphabetical
index. From Group 1 Engines to Group 31 Pick Up boxes & Stake body it is all
here. I do not specialize in Jeep Series (AMX & Javelin 1968-74 for 30
years) this was part of a AMC Dealership buyout. I had other later model
ones, those sold for $250-$400 a book and it is my understanding they will
be put on CD/DVD. I would expect buyer to put this book on CD/DVD (Adobe
format) also and it will pay for itself 100X over such as my 1967-72 AMC
CD/DVD item 251345562373 has, as have sold over 500 of them. You WILL be the
ONLY person with this rare book & uber rare factory binder to boot. I have
had only a handful of AMC dealership binders in stock from dealer buyouts
in 30 years in business, but NEVER had a Jeep 1962 thru 1973 type like this.
It will be sent to high bidder with mandatory signature confirmation in US.
Good luck!”
UPDATE: This was for sale, but sold. This is now a post featuring Hickey Heads (and Chuchua and Willy Willy).
============================
Colin shared a couple photos of his rare Hickey Aluminum Heads. The February 1955 Car Craft had an article about Vic Hickey’s supercharged flathead.
