About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
This has a variety of updates. It’s very much a project.

“I have a 1952 Willys M38 that has the rare Arctic Hard Top. This Jeep may have even been to Korea as far as I know. It is mostly original, seats have been replaced with some real ugly newer seat and it has had some work over the years. Original motor and drive train from what I can tell. Not sure if it is still 24V or has been converted to 12V. It does not run. Needs restored or whatever you have in mind. I also have an extra hood and a windshield I acquired that goes with the M38.
I am not an expert on jeeps so if you need to know details then you will just have to come check it out.
It has a Colorado Title. I can get you a clear Kansas Title for an extra $100 bucks.
please reply to ad by email with your NAME, LOCATION, PHONE NUMBER and actual email address and I will call you if you are interested in my Willys. If you do not include this information I will not reply to anonymous emails.”
“This is an original military Jeep from the Korean war years. Excellent condition, fun to drive! This is the real deal!
The 1954 M38A1 Willy’s Overland Jeep is the first Military Jeep to have the rounded front fenders so commonly associated with Jeeps. The M38A1 was produced between 1952 and 1957, and only 80,290 were produced for military use. Most of these Jeeps have been lost forever, however some still exist. Most of these Jeeps are in poor condition, and require a great deal of money to restore.
My Jeep was reportedly owned by a military man who planned to restore it in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. In 1994, I found this Jeep in an old junkyard in Chattanooga, TN under an old tarp (it did not run, but it had virtually no rust). Over the years I brought the Jeep to life.
Jeep Notables:
The engine and running gear were rebuilt to original specs by Vintage Jeeps Inc. 2008. The 24 volt system was converted to a 12 volt system for reliability *** The generator was replaced with an alternator for efficiency *** The Wiring was replaced and the fuse block is now protected within a waterproof box *** Both seats are original with NOS canvas
NOS vacuum assist Wiper Motors come with the Jeep (not currently on the Jeep) ***
Original data plates and 1955 M38A1 Operators Maintenance Manual included.”
This has a few jeeps parts and many more non jeep parts.
“It was used up to the point of having one cylider run rough; then the unit was replaced with another used Zamboni of newer vintage. This unit fits into the 1964 to 1969 HD and HDA catagory of Zambonis . most of us remember these at the ice rinks when we were alot younger.
This is the familiar looking unit that most NHL ICE rinks had back in the 60’s and 70’s. This would be a fantastic unit for promotion / parade / or for your local ice rink once motor repaired.
This unit has the air-cooled 4 cylinder Wisconsin VH4D engine. The motor is tired on one cylinder , it does run,it was last run in december 2011. It does have the 5 bolt wheel jeep cj5 diffs, but is the 1964 up non jeep framed type Zamboni . It has the 3 speed manual transmission (Jeep FC 150) , It has 4 studded tires. it rolls and steers properly.
It has been used up to recently at the Keremeos BC ice rink, with former use at the Osoyoos BC rink.”
(10/02/2009) Wow. A great find from Jim. I’d love to see some better pics of this one. It appears very well done.
“1962 Willys custom quad-cab pickup fabricated with Chevy 3/4 ton chassis and 6.0 liter engine, auto transmission, power disk brakes, A/C, power windows, power door locks with remote, custom interior with flip down screen, in-dash Pioneer navigation system, wood-lined bed, and many other custom touches. I don’t have a specific price but will consider all reasonable offers. Please respond by email with number and best time to call if interested.
This appears to have a CJ-2A grille. This might be worth a look.
“I have a 1953 Willys Jeep 4×4 that was a project car for me. I have rewired the whole vehicle from scratch, upgraded many parts to include installing new fuel pump. 12gal fuel cell, seats, etc. Engine transplant with 1998 Chevy 350 small block and vehicle is in running condition. Has complete roll cage installed as well. Still needs brake system to be completed, then drivable 100%. Have new master cylinder and brake lines for you.”
I’m generally pretty good with match, but I can’t figure out how the matching numbers on this jeep match. The rear of the body looks dented inwards.
“Great Project
Matching numbers
Frame # GPW183017
Body # 17539
Engine # 1830172
New Battery
Four 15 inch Rims included ( Odd ball 13 inch on the jeep now)
I got it running but it’s been sitting for a few months, had to use a gas can because tank is rusty but could be repaired.
Previous owner had the running gear gone thru, you’ll have to look at it to decide.
