UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1200.
This popped up during my searches. Looks like an interesting project.
“I am selling the disassembled remains of a real WWII Autocar Halftrack. The rear half that would have once had tank tracks is missing. It comes with the patterns and some 1/4 plate to make replicas of the missing 1/4″ armor. It is missing the flathead 6 cyl engine and transmission. My suggestion is to use it for parts to restore another halftrack, or use the patterns I’ve taken from a WWII White Scout Car to convert it into an armored scout car. The last two photos are so you can see what a restored version of this thing would look like. Keep in mind that its made of simple flat plate and the only body work to be down would be on the front fenders! It comes with about 250 brand new of the very expensive armored bolts that hold the body together.”
UPDATE: **Status Unknown** Was $2800

(04/20/2014) This might make a good restoration candidate if the amount of rust is low.

David Silberman pointed out the ‘Leaping Lena’ article from the October 1941 issue of Popular Science (I thought I’d purchased this issue to scan, but apparently I didn’t do that). It’s an interesting review of the prototype jeeps. You also can view the entire issue on Google.
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2900
(08/13/2012) This has a M-38 windshield and a lot of diamond plating.
“1946 Willys CJ2A for sale. Originally belonged to my dad, it was his toy. I inherited the jeep back in the 1990’s. It has remained garaged and unused for over 13 years. The title could not be located when he passed away, but I do have adequate probate paperwork reflecting my proof of ownership. Not an easy decision to let it go, but it should be used more often and I really could use the garage space again.
Buick V6, 2-barrel Carburetor, Hydraulic Clutch, Buick (tilt) Steering Column, Power Steering, Tow Bar.
New wheel cylinders, brakes and turned rotors all around. Also new Battery and cables, new chrome air cleaner and element.Runs, drives and stops great. For off road use only. Video of Jeep running here: http://youtu.be/LG6nnBhXKCA”

The owner contacted me and sent a photo of what this jeep looked like prior to the work that was done. It appears this was some type of APU jeep. Note the hood and the holes in the dash.
