About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
“This was my first vehicle and hate to part ways with it but it just is not practical for me and I don’t have the time for it anymore. It currently doesn’t run and is sitting on flat tires because it has been sitting for a while.”
‘1948 CJ2A Willys Jeep Project, rebuilt L Head 134 Motor. 3A windshield and grill. It has most of the running gear. It needs floor pans. No Title. Cash only. $2,500 firm.”
“Willy’s jeep ready for some crawling with this gearing. Saginaw steering power, 538 gears, motor is a 4 speed granny gear. Chev toploader. Onboard air. This Jeep is ready for you to add your personal touches. It’s stored and has been stored in a garage. No rust and no trades.”
I managed to lose the original I had about the folks that own the rights to the IH Scout brand, which was interesting, but the nut of the article was about the revival of the “Scout” as an EV vehicle under the Volkswagen brand. Here’s an article that explains the EV company:
Scott forwarded this link to Sudest.com (in southern France). The company is offering new L-head blocks (likely from China) for sale. They are priced at 3995 Euro ($4310)
“1950s jeep willys. This is an old barn find jeep (I believe it’s a cja2 could be totally wrong) my uncle has had it many years. It’s definitely a project. But with some love could make a fun toy. It does have the pto on the back. He doesn’t have the title to it. So you would have to do some paper work to get one”
“no rust hard top 4×4 works drives great brakes need attention ..engine has been overhauled..comp checks out on all cylinders new tires and yes it does have doors”
“This 1978 Jeep CJ-5 was acquired by the seller in 2014 and subsequently fitted with a 258ci inline-six and refinished in red. Additional work is said to have included a rebuild of the three-speed manual transmission, an overhaul of the axle and transfer case components, and a refresh of the braking components. Additional equipment includes 15” wheels, 31” tires, front disc brakes, Bilstein shocks, front bucket seats trimmed in black cloth upholstery, three-point front seatbelts, and rear lap belts. This CJ-5 is now offered with parts receipts, an owner’s manual, and a clean Michigan title in the seller’s name.”
Bill spotted this refurbed jeep listed as a 1948 CJ-3A. It looks in good shape for the price. The engine has a 3A/M-38/DJ-3A oil filter holder, so either the year or the model is incorrect.
“This 1948 Jeep CJ 3A is an original with updates to the exterior and interior. The owner has had it for 5+ years. The vehicle is drivable and is not regularly driven.”
