Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Reader and T-shirt designer Jeff Phillips helped me create these new t-shirts from a 1942 drawing. I received the first box of olive drab shirts today. The look great and, made from 60/40 bend of cotton and polyester, feel great. I’ll explain more in a few days once I get the gray shirts.
This looks like a good price, despite the odd body.
“1942 Ford GPW WWII Jeep #109046. The original body has been cut, and though sound, is not restorable. Has good MB engine, rebuilt trans and transfer case, new steering parts, 5 new NDT tires, new brake parts, etc. The Jeep runs and drives excellent. A fun Jeep as is or, with a new body kit, would make a nice classic. $3,000.”

This might make a good restoration project. It has an interesting dash mod for the gauges.
“All stock except for 12 volted wiring. Runs good! Strong engine, 4×4 works, new upholstered front seats, full roll cage, 31″ tires, with no rust or body damage.”

(07/09/2013) This looks in good shape and the tub appears to be a reproduction, so it’s probably very solid.
“Classic willys jeep, restored with original engine, and running gear. has a lift kit installed, as well as aftermarket stereo and rear seat with seat belts. Very clean throughout, always garaged and adult owned. Full size spae tire on hitch mounted rack in rear. No power steering or brakes, all original. used as a camp cruiser and show vehicle for the past ten years.”

Looks in good shape.
“Custom 1956 Willys Wagon for sale. Has a rebuilt 340 buick motor, a rebuilt 4 barrel carburetor, standard transmission, factory 4×4, Dana 60 rear end and a Dana 44 up front, new shocks, new brakes, new gas tank, new paint and new upholstery. Runs very strong and have pink slip in hand.”

“All original – rims, 6 cylinder Willys super hurricane motor, matching numbers, runs great. Clean frame and body. California truck. Lots extra parts. Will trade. ”

(08/20/2013) Not perfect, but looks solid.
“1946 CJ2A Jeep for sale that has been restored and brought back to life. All original except electrical is now 12 volt, back seat, grab bar and rear lights. The jeep was inspected last year and runs good. Two boxes of used and new extra parts included.”

These appear to have some ware. Maybe 30-50% tread left?
“I have 4 desert dog tires on 15 inch rims. Bolt pattern is 5 on 5.5 wagon wheels, I also have four jeep alum rims for sale. They are the ones mounted on in picture”
