About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
It runs and drives and is a mish mash of parts. You don’t often see a CJ-2A windshield on a CJ-3B body. And that hood, what’s up with it? It’s just wrong.
“1947 willys jeep the title says cj2….flat 4 cyl twin stick transfer case 4 speed starts runs and drives and stops and the stock tires even hold air….the tub is pretty rough and has been plated and welded ….the lights and signals work….clean title and a tub of extra parts and a service manual is a running project 1700”
The July 23, 1945, issue of Life Magazine has a three page article by Joe Weston that describes a jeep trip through Sweden in what I would guess was May or June of 1945. Based on the three cartoons (show below) they were driving a Willys MA.
The article describes crowds of people gawking at the jeep wherever they went. In Stockholm people started removing parts off of it. The article was a funny read.
The seller is from Canada, so shipping to the US is expensive. This would be a cool piece to have, but between shipping and the purchase price it’s a bit steep for me.
” Bidding for a so-so condition vintage Willys dealer poster. This was on a wall at an old dealership that was also a garage of course.I have actually spent some time to clean this up quite a bit. There are numerous rear clear tape repairs I had to do at quite a few edges and in the main body itself, water staining, dust discoloration, pin or staple holes, crinkles etc..Large pics should provide an idea of the condition.SX-233-4 form number I believe at bottom left corner.I had some other items from the garage that were all dated either 1954 or 1955 so this would be from the same time I`d say.Listed it because I know these are hard to find these days, better than nothing at all.Old original dealer stock, great for the collection.Questions have to be asked a day before sale end. Will combine shipping whenever possible, multiple or frequent bid winners will benefit,so check out my other listings.Shipping is $22.50 $US to the USA,$18.00 to within Canada.I`ll have to roll it up as well as possible and ship in square or tubular box.I ship one to three times a week now, depending when I go to town, fuel is super expensive up here now,and my local post office can no longer ship parcels.Canada post from up here to the US may take one or two weeks, border, travel time, size of item being shipped, destination, etc.,often for something like this it is much faster, please be patient,it`ll get there.I pack very well. pst in Mb.”
“1941 Ford Jeep Serial No. 9270. Number 746 of 4, 458 built. Date of manufacture is on nomenclature plate on dash, 4/28.41. Tub has some rusted out areas but is basically solid. Tailgate is not original equipment but is Willys and professionally installed. Front part of floor is galv. plate which was cut to fit a 350 Chevy engine. Motor mounts on chassis are for that engine. Steering gear is not original. Flat iron grille is believed to be original, however I could not determine for certain it came on Ford jeeps, as Ford did design the pressed sheet metal grille on all future jeeps, Ford and Willys. Chassis is jeep, year of orgin unknown. Does have tapered rear axle which turns freely. Front differential housing is intact but shaft is missing and possibly some gears. Best part of jeep is the dash which is straight and untouched. All three plates are original and securely rivited to dash. The book, Hail to the Jeep has a picture of this model jeep being driven up Washington Capitol steps by Edsel Ford. ”
This FC supposedly spent it’s life running the railroad tracks. No railroad wheels left according to the seller.
“Hello Gearheads. Here is a very restorable, rare vehicle for your consideration. A ton of great parts, or easy restoration. It is a 1962 Jeep FC170 truck that is in great unrestored condition. It of course is 4wd, with a snow blade, ( hydraulics have been rebuilt )… Great driver that runs like a top. Only 72,983 actual miles. Ex- railroad truck that spent its life running up and down the tracks, has instruction plate, but no wheels for running the tracks ( sorry to all you hazzard boys ) Has new radiator, water pump, brakes, new brake and fuel lines. Completely rebuilt bed with a substantial metal plate floor ready for the toughest thing you can throw into it. Original red paint under primer, all wiring original and proofed with everything working. needs only tires for state inspection. easy to bring to tip top condition or use as is. Give me a call with any questions.”
I love the old lettering for the “Pine Valley Hunt Club”. Except for the crazy front bumper, this looks in pretty good shape. Motor is locked.
“hi im selling a a 1947 willys army jeep. it has been sitting for 5 years the motor is locked up from sitting for so long. so it is not running at the moment but it did before it sat before for so long. it is a 4×4.”
This looks like a solid M-38. It still runs 24 volt.
“I am selling my 1951 military willys jeep. The tub is all original as is the motor and it has O rust. The floors are as solid as when they came off the production line. It is set up with the 24 volt system and has 2 new batteries. The tires and tubes are in brand new condition and i do have a spare tire and rim. It comes with a as i was told old new stock canvas top. The bows on the jeep are new and yet need to be painted. The wiring in the jeep does need to be redone as it is the original wiring. the wiring is good for starting and stopping the engine. The engine is solid and starts and runs beautifully. The high and low 4 wheel drive work great as does the 2 wheel drive. The jeep has a couple spots that for some odd reason were spray painted black but that is a easy fix with a can on military match spray paint. I am a ww2 reenactor and i was going to use this jeep but i decided to go with a motorcycle instead. If you have any questions please feel free to call me at 616-450-2194 ask for Tim. If you are a craigs list scam artist dont waste my time with your ass wipe offers. thanks for looking”
Put a nice paint job on this and it will be ready to go. Looks good. Given we live in Pasco, this can’t be too far from me.
