Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. This photo forwarded by Marc shows a large number of M-38s awaiting shipment. The curious item is the date: 1961. Is it possible the photo was from some earlier date, but never published until 1961? Or did someone mean to stamp 1951?

Dan spotted this Tonka Surrey at the Little Antique Mall.
It appears solid, but there have been a few alterations from stock.
“1952 Willys CJ3A. In good condition for its age. This jeep sat for a couple decades prior to my starting with it about 5 years ago. Currently runs and drives well (for a 1952). No engine/mechanical issues. Probably one of the best condition original engine jeeps of this era you will find. It is right at the spot where you could either go for a restoration or a crawler build, or do what I did and run it just as is. Currently has the rear swing out tire carrier, the roll bar (not stock on Jeeps this old) and the removable rear seat.
Its not one I have to sell, but I haven’t driven it must in the last couple years, and I would like the garage space. I may be interested in a trade for the right road motorcycle or maybe something else interesting let me know what you have. I have a current clean title in hand ready to transfer. Text or email is the best way to reach me as I can’t answer my phone while at work during the day, but if you do call leave a message and I’ll get back to you. Thanks for looking.”
