About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
UPDATE: New pic with updated paint. Price raised to $14,500.
(05/02/2012) “military vehicle 1942 gpw ford restored and re painted but still need some details, i have some original parts and accesories if you´re interested send me an email to make a deal, im asking 14,900 dlls or best offer … thanks ”
I am wondering if this was the original paint? This is supposed to have been a civil defense jeep. This sure looks like a good restoration candidate. No Title.
“This is a M38A1 Military Jeep. Data ID plate: 8/1960. Jeep was used by civil defence.
I got the engine running, but have not driven it. Engine runs nice & smooth, no smoke. It has new oil & oil filter. I started it on starting fluid, and then used gas from a temporary tank I set up. Gas tank, Carborator & Fuel lines need a major clean up. I think the fuel pump is shot. (I wanted to make sure this ran before I sold it).
Tranny shifts properly. Hi/Low & 4×4 levers shift freely & it rolls freely as well. Clutch seems to be OK. No brakes. Jeep has heavy duty front & rear leaf springs. I’m no expert on M38s, but it looks to me that 98% of it is there. Everything is original, includes a 24V system and 5 matching rims with original tires. (4 are dry-rotted)
Nobody has started to restore this, it is untouched. There are no batteries included in this auction. Frame is solid with surface rust only. The body is in pretty good, straight shape with no major rust issues except the tool box floor and surrounding area. Look closely at the pictures.
This looks bad & a real rustbucket in the photos, but it’s not how it looks. There is a lot of surface rust & peeling paint & undercoating that make it look worse then it really is. See all picture in my photoalbum at http://s1232.photobucket.com/albums/ff362/3familytree/M38%20A1%20White/
My opinion is that this is an easy restoration project. There is no title, but I will provide a bill of sale. I am selling this to finance another project. You will get everything you see in the pictures. If you have any questions, feel free to ask BEFORE you bid.”
(09/08/2010) ‘It was a project car that I have 11k invested and never finished. Has 36″ tires, like new. leaf over axle, v6 still needs a little work. – $3500. or trade for personal water craft.”
There is some value here, but plenty of work left, too.
“1946 Willys CJ3A (Lowhood). This was a running jeep and I disassembled to repair the typical rust in floor of tub. Lost interest and want to move on to my other projects. This jeep has tons of potential. 302 w/Ford toploader 4spd, Spicer 18 transfer case, Dana 44 rear w/Detroit locker, Dana 25 w/Disc brake conversion, Rancho springs, Full cage, Tilt column, Engine has a new Demon 4 barrel carb and Pertronix electronic ignition. Have all parts to build a nice jeep and some extras. To all you flakes this is a project so if you want a running jeep dont waste my time, Your going to have to work on this one a bit. I am open to any interesting trades or $2000 cash.”
“in excellent shape all stock runs and drives good smokes has new rings rods pistons. have hard top and rag top may trade no junk if your stuff is worth 6500 then i may trade”
“A nice 1947 Willy’s Jeep CJ2A with an Original Aluminum Hard Top with doors and a Bikini Top. This is a multiple year restoration while also a daily driver around the farm and to town (not a full restoration see Photos). Many many new parts and I’ll try to list most. It has seats and seat belts for four persons and a roll bar. Pintle and Ball hitch. All lights work. Has hard to find original glass front marker lights and original dash light. It looks and runs great. One photo shows gauges on dash working while engine is running (good oil pressure, volts etc.). Interior is in good condition, good upholstery and a full truck bed floor mat. Faults: parking brake not working, and steering is loose (I’m used to it) it needs the center Pitman shaft or just drive it like it is. Mileage may not be exact, but it is what shows on the working odometer. Also, this is not and never was a rust bucket. Any surface rust was repaired prior to painting a couple years ago. . . .”
“Restored WW2 CONVERTO AIRBORNE DUMP TRAILER Registration Number: 0878162. Has original data plate, original thick lunette, both original dump handles, original landing leg, original re-enforced combat wheels, original 6.00×16 Goodyear tires, original CB tail lights, original WWII issue Converto canvas pouch, original cloth inter-vehicular cable and tailgate. This trailer would look exceptional behind any restored WW2 Jeep or dozer. Asking 4k Located in Boise, Idaho”
(05/04/2011) It looks solid, but still appears to be missing front turn signals/parking lights.
“Freshly Rebuilt Engine 4 cylinder, new pistions rings and much more, COMPLETE engine overhaul. Completely reconditioned jeep gone through front to back. No trades or barter. Runs great”
