About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .

(01/29/2012) “Meet OLD RED..the feisty 1948 Willys Jeep…true mileage unknown, but based on the condition and the way it runs, it either has very low mileage or was babied most of its life… As you know these little Jeeps are real workhorses and can run forever.. Big Red is amazing.. the original 4 cylnder motor runs like a top and really zips around town.. mostly original except for the big custom wheels and tires for a better ride on the street and dirt.. but you can buy original tires and wheels online and bring this baby back to totally original style… the suspension, and transfer case etc are all in great condition as you can see from the photos.. the only hiccup I know of, is the tranny will pop out of gear in 2nd gear sometimes when you let off the gas, but I will get that checked and fixed soon… there is more but this is one of the nicest and best condition old Willys jeeps around.. also comes with a tow bar and some other extra spares and goodies Please note: I m now a boutique classic car dealer in Nevada, so any Nevada residents who purchase this vehicle to register in Nevada will need to also pay a 8.1% sales tax and a $99 documentation fee, but I have taken this into consideration in the pricing of this vehicle .”
“225 Dauntless V6 engine, 3 speed, body is rough but it is complete and good enough for a up north toy. Don forwarded us some pictures of his M-38 and M-35. It took him one year to build the M-38 from parts. I think it looks terrific!
He joked that he built it to match his M-35 and says he has to keep busy doing something, noting he doesn’t want to become a couch potato. Thanks for sharing Don!
UPDATE: The GPW Scam is back with the same pics. I’ve flagged about twenty of them over the past couple days. The price varies, but always around $5000. Below is the picture most often used:
FROM September 24, 2011 … Here is how the scam works.
Rob is sharing the email exchange he had with the GPW scam:
Here is the latest on the 42 GPW scam including the fake invoice from Google Checkout. The request for the Western Union money order is not how Google Checkout transfers funds.
“1948 Willys CJ2A has a Buick .225 V6, power lock front diff, Warren O-drive, 5.38 gears Mod 44 rear, Thorsen gears, Rancho suspension 2” lift, 33” Bridgestone duelers and a new “bestop” soft top with one set of full size doors and one set of half doors + extras. The Willys is very clean and runs great on any trail and around town, registration was just paid, clean title in hand. I also have two trailers for sale. M416 all original military jeep trailer, purchased from Camp Pendleton depot in the 70’s. The marines took the data plates off, sprayed a quick coat of white on them and sold them to the public, original camo is still hidden underneath. Second is a 6,000 lbs GVW dove tail car hauler to put the jeep on for going long distance. I am asking $7000 for the Willys and $10,000 with both trailers. I will NOT sell the M416 by itself, please don’t ask.
The Willys is in immaculate condition, I have owned it for two yrs & need room for a project car, the previous owner had it for 42 yrs. Please only serious inquiries no dreamers or tire kickers. Will send more pics to serious parties.”
This looks in great shape. Just over an hour left in the auction.
