Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. The September 1941 issue of Popular Mechanics (pg 3) features this photo of a Ford GP landing on to the ground. The article suggests there was a great deal of excitement over the jeep’s possibilities. I’ve included some of the text from the article (which covers a variety of war vehicles). The write discusses the potential for jeeps, then mentions a four wheeled ‘tank’ with independent suspension. To me that sounded a lot like the Tucker Combat Car.

This is listed as a 57 jeep, but looks like a CJ-3A to me.
“1957 willys jeep 4×4. Awesome piece of history. These things were built well. Made to military standards. Motor has been rebuilt and runs great. Trans shifts good. 4×4 hi and low works well. This would be a cool jeep for a swap or restore project or drive it as is.
Interested in 4×4 rigs. 4×4 four wheelers or anything of real value that interests me. Just ask.”

This trailers looks good.
“1947-1949 Bantem Trailer. 3 New Aluminum Mags and Desert Dueler P225-75R-15 tires. Custom made Stainless Steel Top. Custom made Tongue rack with two mounted 5 gallon gas cans. Trailer Jack. Wood Flooring over metal. Interior tool box. Locks on top and gas cans. Excellent condition.”

“This is a original jeep willys that you can drive anywhere. Motor has about 10,000. miles on it. Everything works as it should. It also has a black top that is in good condition with no tears or holes. Original 6volt system works perfect.”
