Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Runs and drives. The seller has listed this as a ’55, but it looks more like a 61 or older. Possibly a Maverick?
“Flathead 6 Jeep engine, runs and drives. Fair condition… GREAT restoration project. $2500…offers considered.”
It has some issues, but it’s only $500. The top looks worth nearly that.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $250
It’s a parts vehicle.
“Willys CJ2A 1947 jeep for parts. Project jeep I’m not going to get to. Still has original frame tag. Has not been titled in California as it was bought as a parts vehicle so bill of sale only if wanted. Included are all parts pictured. Have engine and transmission for sale also (not from this vehicle).”
No pics provided. The jeep is disassembled.

UPDATE: Still Available. I didn’t realize how unusual the dash was on this one.
“51 Willys with 3.8 Liter Buick odd fire V-6, saginaw manual steering gear, 2″ lift Rancho springs, Confer shackles, back seat, Best Top bucket seats, Tow Bar, dual exhaust. This is a project that needs finished. It has sat for 10 years. motor started but carb has stuck float and leaks, pressure plate is stuck to flywheel. Wiring needs work. Not a driver you can tow it home with the tow bar. After 10 years I have come to the conclusion I don’t have time to work on this project. No trades, cash only call two zero six two two seven 9037”

UPDATE: **Sold** Was listed at $8500
“I bought this in 1996 and have done all the work myself –except the rebuild of the engine.
Everything works (lights ,gauges,wipers,and 4×4 and it is 12 volt)
This Wagon was used in a movie in 2007 called When Love Concurs Paul . A DVD of the Movie will come with the sale.
It does have a broken drivers door window . and I do not have a key to the door locks
The tires are new and are BFG AT 33-9.50 they are great
Everything has been rebuilt or replaced.”

Craig forwarded this photo from the 1961 January/February issue of Jeep News.
Ann and her mother Rosemary drove over to a friend’s house in Richland on Tuesday59. Along the way, Ann spotted this jeep. After telling her mother to turn around so they could get some photos, she snapped this one.
When they arrived at Rosemary’s friend’s house, Ann discovered they had an old jeep. It turns out to be a CJ-3A that was handed down and hasn’t moved in a while. There seems to be no interest in selling it at this point. Looks like it’s a bit of a project, but at least it is stored indoors.
So, congrats to my wife for her jeep hunting skills!
