About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
“1955 Willy’s Wagon, all original, including the Super Hurricane 6 cyl. It is complete, needs battery, non-running, good tires, clean Montana vehicle, virtually no rust, pass. side floor board does have a little rust. I bought as a project and I do not have the time to do it, it would be a very easy restoration. Title in hand. $1200. Bob 406-626-5275”
(01/21/2012) This is worth a closer look. The seller only wants to deal with people in person.
“This is a fully original 1949 Willy’s with clean title, civilian model with 12volt electric. Jeep has extesnion on back that can be taken off to reduce price. This Jeep has been great around the ranch and does need some body work. 16″ wheels but can trade out for 15″ both with desent tires. Breaks and front wheel cylender rebuit. Runs well just needs tinkering like any 1949 Jeep. Will take seriouse offers. No shipping, No dealers, In person only!!!!
Please call Joe 719 three three O – Five 5 9 Five”
(09/11/2011) The body is a M-38, but the serial number indicates a CJ-3B. (though the 153-GB2 should actually be 453-GB2). So, I’m gonna guess that has been assembled from several jeeps.
“1953 Jeep Willys. In running condition. Serial # 153-GB2 30912.”
Ann and I arrived in Mesa, Arizona, yesterday after a night of camping at Natural Bridges National Monument and a long day of driving through the desert. After a couple of margaritas and the ‘chuletas con chile rojo’ from Nandos last night, I was done for the day. So, rather than updates last night, look for some some updates in a few hours after I catch up on email. In the mean time, enjoy a few of the pics we took on our way through Utah.
On Tuesday one our first stops of the day was at Goblin Valley State Park. If you’ve ever seen the movie Galaxy Quest, then you’ve seen some footage of this unique park.
As Ann and I walked around the park, we spotted an opportunity for our own unique photo op.
After spending the night at Natural Bridges National Monument, we spent two hours touring the park. We didn’t see another car or hiker the entire time. I joked that I had rented the park for Ann for the entire morning. At Natural Bridges we hiked down to the oldest of the three bridges, Owachomo, and shot this photo.
Here is an iconic shot at Monument Valley. I always thought this was in Northern Arizona. It turns out it is just south of Mexican Hat, Utah, and just north of the Arizona Border.

(03/13/2012) This has an automatic tranny and has a Warn Overdrive. On Sunday I asked Herm (aka Herm the Overdrive Guy) how people with automatic trannies shift their overdrive. He said the proper way is to turn the key. In other words, you should turn off the jeep and shift the overdrive. Given this has the overdrive and the buckshots, this might be worth a look.
“47 flatfender 283 Chevrolet, headers, 350 tranny, Dana 20 transfer case with warn overdrive, Dana 44s 488 powerlck in rear open front, warn hubs just fixed the usual rust issues (new rear pan drivers side floor) very little rust, lights and wipers work, good seats, 34″ buckshot style tires 100%, not perfect but turn key good runner ready for the woods or street .yes drives great and stops good to 3500 OBO two five three 273-9080 lowballers will be ignored, trades may be considered with cash, straight axle toyota , CJ 5-7”
Here’s are three postcards with jeeps by Sgt Dave Breger at postcard collectors.
On the left the caption reads, “I would hafta deliver a message to the Colonel when his orderly is sick”. On the right it reads, “‘Should bars! Get your lieutenant’s shoulder bars here.'”
At the bottom of this card it reads “He wants to ride in front. He’s getting carsick back here.”
There are some UNUSUAL Mods on this jeep. Is that a battery box lid on the driver’s side?
“Asking for 4,000 or best offer.
