About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .

“53 Willys CJ3 High Hood
Picked this up in a trade.
Looks like a old mud racer!
Old School Side by Side!
Show your friends what a real Side by Side is, put 400 HP under the hood and bolt on some paddle tires!
Has a rear tow hook to pull those $40,000 SBS out when they get stuck!
Maybe build a 2 wheel drive Straight Axle Rat Rod, 5.9 Cummins with a straight stack through the hood!
Extended Tilt Nose
Mid Engine
Looks like a 73 or newer GM Square body frame
3\4 ton Axles, dont know the gear ratio or if they are locked up
Full float 14 bolt rear axle
D44 front axle
BPO Turbo 400 trans
Dana 20 transfercase
drive lines are still in it.
Power brakes and steering
Full cage with air craft seats and lap belts
All the guages and tach are still in place
B and M ratchet shifter
Radiator and all wiring to put the engine of your choice in it like a Cadillac, Oldsmobile, Pontiac, AMC, Ford or Dodge engine you have laying around.
472 or 500 Cadiliac would be fun!
Had a 455 Buick that the previous owner kept for another project, was a running driving Jeep.
Maybe a small or big block Chevy with a adapter to the BPO T400
Currently has 12.00 x 16.5 tires will knock $450 off if you dont want them bring your wheels and tires.
Body is rough but intact would make a great Sand Dunes Jeep, Mud racer or Off road Jeep many posibilites, can have fun with this one at a fraction of the Cost of a new Side by Side and not worry about denting or scratching it, besides it will sound better!
Clear Title will need the lights wired for road use.
Selling for parts or as a project Jeep!
$1,950 as it sits
$1,500 less the16.5 tires and wheels, or the T400 Transmission and D20Transfercase
$1,000 Less the transmission, transfercase and wheels and tires, would be a fun family Jeep project. Maybe shorten the frame, add a rear fuel cell many possibilitys, It would do well in the Dunes being Mid engine be lighter on the front end.
My bottom Dollar is $1,000 Cash less the T400, Dana 20 transfercase and wheels and tires, bring your own wheels and tires. If it dont sell by the 4th of July weekend I will be parting it out! Text offers on any part and I will consider if it dont sell before then.”

I have someone interested in selling this 50R winch (more info on the winches in general here). It lacks cable, but does spin. I know when these are complete they used to sell for upwards of several thousand, but I have no idea where the market on an incomplete winch like this might be. The seller isn’t worried about getting top dollar; but still wants a reasonable amount for it.
My *guess* would be in the $1500-$2000 range?
Also, any other details that would affect the value of this?
The winch does include the bracket. Here are two pics of it when it was in the bracket (and before he cleaned it up):

Runs great for a 1948. Rebuilt carb, new distributor and coil, new radiator, electric fan and electronic fuel pump. Mileage is an unknown This Jeep has manual steering and no lift, about as stock as you can find one nowadays. Has numerous spare parts and a towbar.
