(03/14/2013) “Project Jeep. It is a 1947 Willys CJ-2A. It was a total basket case, but I have it nearly ready to complete. Engine swap by previous owner to 225CI Slant Six. I have a newer Slant Six (Super-Six) out of 70’s Valare. Only 30,000 miles. Most of tub has been rebuilt. All steel, no bondo. I was building it for my father who has passed away. I no longer am interested in completing it. Finsih it the way you want. Good engine, new windshield. I can even deliver if you buy the gas. Give me a call (509)876-2354. Thanks for looking”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $3850
(07/24/2011) I would be motivated to sell this jeep at the above price too!
“OWN A PIECE OF HISTORY!!! THIS WILLYS JEEP IS THE RAREST EVER PRODUCED. MY FATHER HAD THE ENGINE COMPLETELY REBUILT (HURRICANE 4) LESS THAN 500 MILES ON IT. IT IS ALL ORIGINAL. IT RUNS AND DRIVES ON THE FREEWAY. (60MPH) I OWN A CLEAN TITLE (IN MY NAME). ON THE DASH, IT READS CAMP PENDLETON (ORDINANCE DEPO). MUST SEE TO APPRECIATE. I NEED IT SOLD THIS WEEK SO I AM LETTING IT GO TO THE FIRST PERSON WITH $3850 CASH.”
Bill filed a report on his trip to Alaska.
He writes, “Back from Alaska – assumption going, it would be the land of 4 wheel drives and lots of jeeps old and new. Reality – the Toyota sedan is the vehicle of choice, Jeeps on the road from Fairbanks to Seward numbered about 2 dozen – none Willys era. Bubba lives up there – see the M38A1 grafted to a Willys wagon, the Willys truck with a Ford or Chevy bed and the Willys truck with wire wheels. There was a CJ3B fire truck I saw.“
These wagons were operated by San Juan Scenic Jeep Tours out of Ouray, Colorado. One of these is usually available on eBay.
