This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. (01/02/2011) This appears to have an unusual bar on the passenger side spanning across the rear wheel well.
“I have the title in hand, with current registered black plates.
This is a nice old jeep. It has a Willys MB hood. This was one of the first Ford keeps made. The frame serial number is GPW 10792* (yes it is a star, not a missing number) The body does not have a serial number, which is correct for the early 42 jeeps. The motor serial is 171304, so it isn’t the original motor but it is still the correct L134
It has a Volvo gas tank behind the seats in the cargo area. The steering column and seats are vw.
The body and undercarriage are solid.
I had the starter rebuilt last year.
Has locking/non-locking front axle so it can be towed. Also has light hookup like a trailer for towing.
Has a black top and doors that come with it.
The bad- I had ezlube change the oil and 2 months later, I found out the oil had been leaking out of the drain plug. I found out when the motor stopped running. This just happened in mid August. Prior to this, I had put a new battery in it and used it daily for a 12 mile commute. Tranny and 4wd work great.”

Brendan from This Old Jeep asked me to put the word out about a soccer team fundraiser that includes a teen who built a very nice Willys Truck. You can learn more about it here. The goal is to raise $300 for the club, but a side goal is to get as many classic jeeps there as possible.
The event takes place at Saturday Oct. 1st 2011. 11am-2pm perryville Outlets Center Heather Ln Perryville Md. www.perryvilleoutletcenter.com This venue is just off of I95 at exit 93 so its easy to get to for most of us east coast guys. Registration starts at 9am.

“1955 Williys Flat Bed Dump. Gear driven PTO, 4 barrel, small block chevy, 3 speed manual, runs but needs carb work, clutch has issues and does not work, wheel base stretched to 11 feet, 10,000 pound winch mounted on bed, 4 weel drive works well. email for more info”
A reader asked me the following question and i didn’t know the answer.
“Can the the fold down split windshields and solid windshield be interchanged without mods?”
A reader wondered why the price was so high. I wonder that too.
“Original Owner, 1948 Willys Jeep, CJ2A. This is an original owner vehicle that has been in the family since new, for 63 years. It has the original tires, top, and all other equipment as it did when it was picked up at the Jeep/Mack dealer in 1948. This vehicle has been kept in near pristine condition with no rust or dents. Still titled in the original owners name. The like new original owners manual is also included in the sale. This vehicle has been driven between 250-300 miles per year its whole life. It has about 150 miles on it so far this year. This is a once in a lifetime barn-find American icon that even has the only option available in 1948 which is all of the chrome beauty rings on the wheels and the spare.”
