About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
Norm spotted this ad. The jeep has an interesting hardtop and unusual back. It appears well done. Does anyone know if the airforce owned or had other CJ-3As like this?
“airforce, toolbox, on wheels, very rare, many new parts, $3000 Troy, NY”
The camper isn’t original to the FC, but fits pretty well I think.
“This is a forward control FC-170 (1-ton) that has a camper built on the back. It was converted to a camper sometime in the early seventies. The interior of the camper has new paint, counters and cushions. It makes into two double beds and two single so it sleeps a total of six. Has original 1950s propane stove with an oven (there is a normal removable propane tank in an exterior compartment). Gas and DC lights, ice box and sink. The water tank has been removed but there is a place underneath to mount a tank. The engine was changed at some point and replaced with a 302 Ford V-8. The engine fires up and sounds good. The truck drives fine but has been parked for quite some time. I purchased from the person who had built the camper and had owned it for many years. He had used it for camping with the family and hunting but not in recent years due to his age. There is an overdrive unit that goes with the vehicle but needs to be repaired and was removed. I was told by the previous owner that the windshield was recently replaced and it does appear to have been. The tires are pretty old and hard. There is also a set of black spoked 15″ rims are included. There is also a box of misc. gaskets and parts included. The truck has quite a bit of power with the V-8 and would probably get up just about anywhere and has plenty of clearance. There were not many of these trucks made and they have become very collectible. As you can see from the photos the paint is faded but there does not appear to be any serious corrosion anywhere.”
Stuart writes, “I am in need of proper, adequate, if not original seating situation for the “front” of my 43 gpw. As you may be able to see from the pics below, someone has “bubba’d” the driver’s seat and stretched it about 10 inches. I understand the passenger seat isn’t correct either. What i do have to trade or sell to someone is a purpose fabricated roll cage w/ bucket seats, a full width rearview mirror and a console/armrest/cooler/cup holders (not shown) that fits between the center rails.”
“1948 CJ2A PROJECT for sale. Needs motor, however frame is solid and tub can salvaged. This is a good starting point for someone wanting to build an old JEEP. This is a 63 year old vehicle with tyical rust needing a full rebuild. Serious buyers only. No tire kickers Please! $775 OBO”
“1947 Willys CJ2A Jeep, Excellent condition and meticulously maintained and cared for, this CJ-2A with a ’90’s restoration has been garage kept during its life with the present owner (30 years). Bodywork condition and paint quality are superior. Since restoration, the Jeep is only used to cruise the neighborhood and farm, with an occasional trip to town. This CJ-2A is currently equipped with a “universal” one-piece replacement windshield (instead of the two piece original). The original flathead four engine had a partial rebuild and starts effortlessly and runs well. The electrical system is 6-volt. Everything functions except the fuel gauge or sending unit (scheduled to be the next project to tackle, but have not made it there yet – a paint paddle works adequately well!). The current tires are slightly oversized, but have substantial tread remaining. An original, matching rear seat is included as are a small assortment of spare parts. Ready to show or just bump around in, this Jeep offers a lot in originality and quality!”
“1947 Willis Jeep. No tittle. Great for mudding. Has good condition mudding tires. 350 motor, standard, 4×4 and low and high gears. Great for ranching.”
The were first used in “WW2 and Korea”? I’m thinking eWillys should start an educational book drive drive to collect and donate books to the historically needy.
