Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “Selling a 1951 M38 jeep that needs restoration and TLC. We have replaced the coil, plugs, wires, battery & cables, replaced the rear diff fluid and removed the failed gas tank (needs to be replaced) and began cleaning and scrubbing off the years… This is a great hunting, recreation, BOV vehicle.
Unfortunately, we are moving and cannot take it with us. Bring your trailer.”

(02/26/2013) The engine doesn’t run and needs work.
“This is my 1949 Willys Jeep. it is not in running condition at the current moment. it was up until about a year and a half ago. it has the original 2.0 litre f-134 motor in it. after looking into it it was determined that it had a twisted rod bearing and there is some damage to the crank. i havent been able to find any time to fix it. here are a list of some of the upgraded features:
Teraflex suspension
5-31×11.5″ super swamper tires
both front and rear custom winch bumbers with quick disconnect plug already wired (winches not included)
custom roll bar
full soft top w/doors
bikini top
custom back seat w/ seat belts”

DJ-5 owners . . . take heart! Who says a mail jeep isn’t fast? This modified — ok highly modified — DJ-5 won the 2012 Organizer’s Choice Trophy at the 2012 24 Hours of LeMons Thunderhill in California.
