About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
UPDATE: Price dropped to $1400. A reader took a look at this and gave the following report: There was no documentation on the Chevrolet drive train components. It supposedly has a rebuilt 350, with AT and has a GM rear end of some kind. Front diff appears stock. Cab is decent outside. with some pinhole rust. Glass appears good except for drivers door. Inside of cab is trashed. No seats. No cover. No air cleaner on engine. Carb is full of dust, bugs and whatever, so it certainly does not appear that the engine has been taken care of. Bed looks useable, with. some rust on flat panels but restorable. Owner said he had a title, but he could not produce it the day I was there.
(05/25/2010) This is still a project.

(09/25/2010) See Mike’s comments regarding the titling process in Ohio (thanks Mike!). There’s been a variety of updates to this, including the lengthening of the fenders and hood.
“i have a 46 2a for sale, the tub, fenders and hood are all in like new condition with no rust what-so ever, entire body had been bed linered black. set up for small block ford, still has auto trans an t case, engine removed, will include either a 2.8 gm v6 or gm 454, either of which would need a different trans or a trans adapter. yes, a big block WILL fit in this jeep, the fenders. hood, and frame have been extended 4.5 inches, the frame has been strengthened and extended, has 1/2 ton truck springs, power steering, no title, in ohio the jeep only needs to be inspected to check if any parts have been stolen and a rebuild title will be given, has original vin tags on tub, hard top not included, also have a 1948 rolling chassis with a rusty frame id sell for much cheaper, needs some tlc, but a good start for a flat fender project. will sell with it for and extra $500, $300 if you buy it with the jeep. would trade for a stock willys cj 2a or 3a, 4×4 truck, hearse, deuce and a half, let me know what you have.”
(03/08/2011) It looks like it’s been stored a while.
“CJ-2A flat fender jeep w/metal top, runs in good shape just needs some TLC. Been in storage about 20 years. contact obtdude@aol.com or call 360-220-3489…. price 5000. Have title and is titled as a collector;; I would prefer that you call if you have questions.. Thank you .. Has a flat head 4cyl.. As to any history I have none as it is as take or leave it”
(03/18/2011) It runs and is supposed to have little rust. Might be a good deal.
“I have a 1952 Willys M38 Jeep for sale. Great project, has the original flat head 4 cylinder engine which still runs, not much rust, tub is in good shape, comes with 2 different rollbars and extra parts.”
(02/27/2011) Lots of customization to this flattie.
“Flat Fender Willy’s Jeep. 350 Chevy engine, headers, Edelbrock carb and intake, aluminum radiator, Accel electronic ignition, runs very strong. TH350 Chevy automatic transmission mated to what I believe is a Toyota aluminum transfer case with a Downey adapter. I believe the front and rear axles, frame, and steering to be Toyota also. Power brakes, nearly new 36×12.5×15 TSL Super Swamper radials on Mickey Thompson aluminum wheels. The tires still have the nubs on them. It has a Bestop soft top only, Simpson harnesses, Mallory gauges and electric fuel pump. I’m not sure how much lift this thing has, but the frame rails are about 24” above the ground, it has a trailer hitch. It has an older paint job and there is bondo cracking especially where they molded in the flares and hood scoop. This Jeep is titled as a 1998 assembled vehicle. $5900or possible trades for old school Harley, rat rod, hot rod, ’70-72 Chevy 4×4 short bed, ???? Reply to this ad with pics. Trade value must be equal or higher than my cash price, will negotiate for cash. I have a second ’47 Willys rock crawler that I would be willing to sell or add to the deal, email for pics/details. I ended up with both of them and am not a Jeep guy. Thanks for looking.”
Thanks to Brian for spotting this video. Though the music overshadows the narrator in many instances, there are a wide variety of images presented that make it work a look.
