I just ran across this article about the 1964 Jeep Derby on my computer. It’s pretty interesting. I have several other Jeep Derby articles in magazines that I still need to scan.
U-Haul Hamilton Pedal Jeep and Trailer **Status Unknown**
UPDATE: Was on eBay
This is cool. Was the branding added or did U-Haul really make these?

PLEASE READ COMPLETE DESCRIPTION AND SCROLL TO THE BOTTOM TO SEE ALL THE PICS AS THEY ARE PART OF THE DESCRIPTION.

THE TRAILER IS IN GOOD CONDITION. DOES HAVE SOME PAINT LOSS AND SOME SURFACE RUST – SEE PICS.

Craig’s Pic of the Week: Trucks in TV Commercials
Craig found these two pics from a 1964 issue of Jeep News.
Guy provided additional information:
“The top picture with the caption underneath “MOUNTAINS IN COLORADO….” would have been taken on the east side of the Garden Of The Gods in Colorado Springs. The shot is looking west. Appears it could have been made from the present site of the Garden Of The Gods Visitor and Nature Center. See this Google Map link: http://goo.gl/maps/alpDj
The area to the west and north of the Garden Of The Gods is where the devastating Waldo Canyon wildfire swept into Colorado Springs last summer.
The Garden Of The Gods is a spectacular sight. Hiking is allowed, but no jeeping.
White Owl, NC, Willys Dealership
After seeing the photo from Bob, Buz forwarded this photo.
Buz writes, “Here is a photo from White Owl Parts Co. which started out as a Willys Dealership after the war. It’s still there and if you look carefully over their shelves of parts you can still find NOS Willys parts. It’s located in Kinston, NC. They are the nicest people in the world, might be worth a visit if you ever get to this part of the country. The original photo is still on the wall in their office.”

3 Flatties Muskegon, MI $2250
Lots of of parts between all three of these.
“I have 3 jeeps for sale, all are pretty complete, the green one rolls over and will run, the other ones are locked up, green one is restorable, other 2 are a little rough and are probably best for parts, all have the flat 4 motor. just have too many projects and not enough time, asking $2250 for all, dont realy want to mess with parting out, may separate the jeeps and sell individually, Have titles for the 47 and 48, not sure of year on multicolor one, also may consider a trade.”
