Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “I am selling a 1946-1947 Willys CJ2A Jeep with hard top. It ran two years ago. Have not have time to play with and get back to use. Asking $750 or best offer or will consider trades. Comes with bill of sale.”

“The bad- pretty obvious- its a basket case.
at one point had a different motor and they cut the stock motor mounts and such and welded all over the front of the frame. currently has a frozen cj L134 in it. floor boards are GONE, grill cut, no original lights, the pictures show the rest of the bad i think.”

I think the hood has been repaired.
“47 willys cj2a. Original flathead 4. New brake shoes mastercylinder wheel cylinders and brake lines. Converted to 12v with chevy alternator. New gas tank. New electric fuel pump. Starts and drives. Engine Does not smoke. I have original seat frames And windshield. This was my hunting lease buggy. 33×12.5 matching mud tires (pretty new) with spare. I do not have title. 9405941041”

The engine cranks over . . . Does that mean it cranks, but doesn’t run?

(02/21/2012) Switched to F head motor.
“For sale is a 1951 Willys CJ3A. 4×4 works great. 134 cubic inch overhead valve engine runs good. This Jeep would originally have had the 134 flathead, but a previous owner did the swap. The Jeep still has the low hood however, so the previous owner’s solution was to hole-saw an opening in the hood to allow the air cleaner to stick through. Not the most elegant solution, but it works. This Jeep starts right up and runs and drives great! Rebuilt carb, rebuilt starter, electric fuel pump. The drivetrain is in good condition…Dana 25 or 27 up front, Dana 44 rear and 3-speed trans (T-84?) w/Dana 18 twin stick transfer case. Good seats. Rollbar. Towbar. Towhitch. Five Jackman white spoke wheels with good Big-O snow tires. Brakes fair. Decent, presentable body with new floor on driver’s side. New fuel tank. All lights work, wipers work, amp & temp gages work except speedo…needs cable. Nice vintage Jeep at a fair price. Jeep is located in Pahrump, NV 60 mi outside of Las Vegas. Clean NV title. ”

(01/18/2012) This ran when bought ten years ago.
“I purchased this 1947 Willys Jeep with original 4 cyl. motor about 10 years ago with plans to restore it. Things didn’t turn out as planned as the money had to go towards other things. It’s been sitting in my girlfriend’s garage for 10 years! She says it’s time for it to go and sadly I have to agree.
All parts are accounted for. It ran great when I bought it but it hasn’t been started in 10 years.
