About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
“Two 1946 Willys: $2000. One is unassembled and complete except for motor and seats. This one had a small block chevy at one time, frame is boxed and mounts reinforced. The assembled one is complete except for seats. There are three windshields frames between them. One good title. Trailer not included. $2000 OBO 916-717-7290”

In the two photos below, photographer Fritz Kaeser captured this Mobile Orientation Unit presentation on June 28, 1945, near Cividale, Italy (at least that’s the assumption as Cividale is scribbled on the back). I did a search on “Mobile Orientation Units”, but didn’t have any success learning more about them. Fritz ran a studio in Wisconsin before World War II and then headed to the Western U.S. after the war, photographing the American Southwest and the Rocky Mountains. These photographs are a part of Denver Library’s Western History Collection.
This photo shows the Tenth Mountain Division Information and Education’s Mobile Orientation Unit’s jeep-top stage parked in the middle of a grassy field during a discussion of the Pacific campaign. Pfc. Bob Wright (left) and Sergeant Ed Curry sit at tables atop the stage. Behind them is a banner with a map of Japan and the slogan: One war, one world. A jeep trailer contains a sound system and two loudspeakers, a third loud speaker is on the other side of the stage. http://photoswest.org/cgi-bin/imager?00200148+TMD-148
In the photo below, the Tenth Mountain Division Information and Education’s Mobile Orientation Unit holds a discussion of the Pacific campaign and invasion of Japan with soldiers from the 10th Mountain Division’s Quartermaster Battalion. And now we have this beautiful ‘1943 Military Jeep’ …. Seriously, here’s the sign! Sure lookings like a militarized CJ-2A to me. See more pics as well. I sure hope they didn’t pay too much for that!
(01/26/2010) Looks good. The seller notes this has a 3A body.
“1949 Willys CJ2A with 3A body. Awesome working condition, a workhorse for your place or a toy for the woods!

*** Converted to 12 volt
*** Complete with 8,000 lb. WARN winch
*** Military non-directional tires and spare with less than 200 miles on them
*** Bestop black vinyl top with nylon zippers

“Willys Jeep cj2a-mechanically good, body fair to good. Has a cj3a windshield installed, comes with but not installed rollbar assy, sidesteps, no top but a new all weather cover,it has later cj 15 inch wheels and almost new m&s tires (also comes with 5-16 inch jeep wheels), all 4 new springs (mounted on another Jeep but never ran), front hubs, diamond plate rear body covers (not installed) a really nice tow bar and towing lights plus lots of other Jeep parts.”
“Runs good, i drove it around town before it got t o cold. Everything works but a couple of the gauges and brake lights. I’ve put everything from plugs and wires to carb. rebuild, bearings in the front end, hoses and belts, lights. Gas tank rusted out so i put a plastic one in for now. I have the windsheild just hadn’t had time to put it in. Email me at jrmycone@yahoo.com for more pics”
It might be the carb or a fuel pump. I suspect the problem is cheap to solve. This might have little or no rust.
“1955 Jeep CJ5. 4 cyl “F” head engine, manual transmission and 4 wheel drive. It is mechanically in good condition other than a current carburetor problem that allows it to start but not continue to run. It is currently in storage near Alva. but is priced F.O.B Oklahoma City. Asking $1500, or make offer. 405-833-7217″
The price is a bit high on this project. However, what interests me is that this appears to be a M-38 body, with the exception of a battery box. And, this doesn’t appear to be a replacement body to me.
“1950 Willy’s Jeep CJ – 3A Serial #49445; Runs Great Needs Body Work; 3500.00 or Best Offer.”
