1943 Bren Gun Carrier Prior Lake, MN **SOLD**

• CATEGORIES: Other 4x4s This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay.

I know nothing about it, but I think it’s cool.

“A project carrier. Hull number is 2674 which I am told is a 1943 production number. Most of the steering/braking linkage is intact. Nothing torched off. Transmission shift linkage ahead of the bulkhead is also there.
Engine compartment has not been torched up either. Both tracks and the rear end spin freely and can be pushed around easily. Road wheel rubber is in decent shape. Track sprockets are in great shape as is the track.
Shipping can be arranged anywhere. I recently sent a 40′ container to Europe an it was $3800, so be prepared if you are bidding from overseas.
Payment must be made within 5 days of auction close. Payment by cashiers check, cash, wire transfer.
Removal of the unit must be done within 30 days of auction close unless prior arrangements have been made. Ask your questions before you bid!”

Rear PTO Claremont, IL **SOLD**

• CATEGORIES: Parts This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay.

Here’s a PTO.

“What I have for sale is a rear PTO gear box off of a 1951 Willys CJ-3A. It was removed when we decided to restore the jeep and the owner did not want to put it back on. The gearbox worked fine and all the bearings are tight. As you can see by the pictures it does not include the flange that connects it to the driveshaft. The flange was froze onto the shaft and had to be cut off in order to remove the gearbox from the frame. When I cut the flange off I did manage to cut into the shaft slightly as you can see from one of the pictures. This will not hurt the function of the shaft.

The driveshaft and the transfer case adapter actuator are listed separately. Check my other auctions.”

1951 Ringling Barnum Circus Jeeps 3, 4 & 5

• CATEGORIES: Features, Fire/Police/Industry Vehicles, Old Images • TAGS: This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

The Milner Library at Illinois State University has a collection of Circus Memorabilia, including a nice digital archive. I’ve selected a couple of images that show jeeps Numbers 3, 4, and 5 from the Ringling Barnum Circus.

As you can see below, No 3 is working hard holding up Carmen Barrigon, while No. 4 lazily watches.

Meanwhile, No. 5 is doing all the heavily lifting. The photographer, Sverre O. Braathen, calls this a Ford Jeep, but it looks like a CJ-3A the way the bumper is bolted onto the frame, though it also has a CJ-2A windshield. The rear PTO is raising the platforms for seating. My circus book has a good shot of the PTO setup from the rear, but I haven’t had a chance to scan that.
