About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .

“49 Willys Jeep CJ3A. Mostly stock with 4 cyl, 3 speed transmission. Drives well, good mechanical condition. Newer tires, brand new shocks and springs, less than 6 months old. New exhaust and muffler. Converted to 12 volt, has radio, CB, fog lamps, spare tire mount and tow bar. I bought jeep a couple years ago and just haven’t had the time to do much to it, now moving so won’t have a garage to store it in like I do now and don’t want to keep it out side. Is an early CJ3A and has a CJ2A windshield. $5000 or best offer.”
“1957 FC 170 (FORWARD CONTROL) 8,000 lbs. on the tag. Overall truck is in good condition for its age and the way the FC’s rust out. Has some small holes in floor by your feet and some small rot in cab corners. Has the hurricane straight 6 in it with the high low box. The engine ran about 5 years ago but was parked due to faulty brakes. The engine now spins over freely but has no spark, looks like a points, condensor, rotor, cap, and wires are needed to hear her run again. The steel stake bed is fully functional dumping box with its own PTO lever and pump and resovoir. This is the first year of hte FC and the only produced them for 6 years. I have many pics and can send them if you would like.”

UPDATE: I did a little more research and finally found this photo at the CJ-3B Page. There is a complete discussion of the history of the CJ-3B, including a note that the CJ-3B has a custom body extension and a Sears top was purchased that was also custom extended. It’s a good story to read.
I’m not sure where this image might have originated, but I spotted it at expeditionportal.com.
When I last heard from Egon in early 2010, he was considering mounting a flat fender body onto his CJ-5. However, during the intervening months he had the opportunity to purchase a mostly restored CJ-3A, which was originally brought to Europe for the Swiss Army.
The body on this flattie was replaced about 12 years ago, while the transmission and engine are original to the Jeep. He spent time this year finishing the project, adding a roll bar, new rims and new tires. He plans to use his new toy to hunt and explore in and around his Liechtenstein countryside.
I’ve also included a couple pics Egon sent me about a recent hunting trip to Russia where he spent time with some friends. In his email about the trip, he mentions the All-Wheel-Drive Niva, about which I was unfamiliar; So, I researched the Niva, which lead to this post. He notes that the Niva functions well on the Russian terrain of Kirov, however it is a little small for a hunter and all his gear.
“My wife says I have too many toys! I bought this to restore and play with and I have never gotten to it. It is stored inside I bled the breaks but they probably need a break job to be dependable. Starts and runs great. Motor really purrs. It’s in nice shape for how old it is. Sure would be fun to fix up or restore like new or play as is. Come take a look .”
“1948-1953 Jeep CJ3A. Body not salvageable except for windshield frame. Running gear in decent shape. Motor turns freely. Hate to see it go to the scrap yard. Email for info.”
