1951 M-38 Chesapeake, VA **SOLD**
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $600
“Up for your consideration is a 1951 Willys M38 Army Jeep (date of delivery Aug-1951) that would make a great project or starter Jeep. Has an original M38 motor 4 cyl in it that starts and runs. Drives and goes in and out of 4×4 and through all the gears. She’s going to need a lot of TLC as she was neglected in the past. Floor pans are shot as is most of the body, but I’ve seen guys restore something a thousand times worse. Brake lines are mia, but I’ve pulled all the hubs and the wheel cylinders, pads and such look useable. Has a working set of Dualmatic locking hubs on the front. I have a clear VA title in my name (Not registered or tagged). Not wanting to part it out as of yet, but depending on replies, it’s always a possibility. Delivery available for free (withing 50 miles) or we can negotiate a price for further; cash up front. Asking $600 cash obo.”

1963 CJ-3B Staunton, VA **SOLD**
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2250
(03/11/2012) “For sale: 1963 CJ3b
This CJ is among the last of the Willys branded ever made. There has been 3 owners in its lifetime. The Jeep was redone in the early 80s by the second owner. I got this Jeep 6 years ago.
This is a project.
I am roughly 60-70% done with it. I rebuilt the engine, transmission, transfer case, both differentials, upgraded the brakes (everything new), painted the frame with rust inhibiting paint, and a few other thing here and there.
What need to be done to finish this project is to finish installing some of the drive-line components, steering parts would need to be replaced ($15 for a tie rod end), cooling system installed, some bodywork, and the electrical system.
The body is rough, however replacement bodies are available. the hardtop is solid and all glass is in good shape.
I have almost everything one would need to finish this project, and all will go with.
This CJ is a rare find. It would be a perfect project for someone just getting into working on cars and trucks as a hobby, or someone who would lake to make it into an off road toy (as I was doing) This Jeep has a clear title and would be easy to get it back on the road. Parts new and used for these Jeeps are readily available.”

Lafian FC Power Hoe Article
Craig has just posted the Antique Automobile Club of America’s article about the Lafian FC Power Hoe. It’s an interesting article with some good photos.
Alternative Energy for German Cars during WWII
After reading the Blitz Buggy article last night, I read through the remainder of the 1943 Liberty Magazine. I found one of the articles very interesting, though it has nothing to do with jeeps.
Called “Motoring in Germany”, the article describes how gas rationing led to the conversion of automobiles into “gazogenes”, or vehicles powered by wood, gas, charcoal, and coke-burning. The cars either towed trailers or had washing-machine sized attachments added to the back. Here’s the page below.
