Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. A spring-over- had been added to this jeep.
“I have had it sitting for a few years and don’t have time for it. It’s pretty much completely stock except for a spring over kit and floor boards replaced. It has not been started in about 4 years but ran when parked. Has a TEXAS TITLE!”

The tires and rims look ready to mount.
“For Sale ~ Four (4) Willys 15″ Steel Rims with Radial Tires (205 x 70 x 15). Rims in great shape ~ Tires have 75%+ tread. See photos. These came off a FC150 but will work on CJ3B, CJ5/6 and FC150/170 and others.”

This has potential.
“This is a serious project, but it’s all there. Currently has a 235 Chevy straight six. Turns over with compression. Run a year or so ago. Truck has not been registered since 1974. Has black plates. No longer in the system and I can give you a bill of sale but that’s it. Took this truck in on a trade, and maybe I shouldn’t have, but I have ridden in it off road and it is a fun a old beast. Gas tank needs to be mounted and the brakes need work to be any use. 4 wheel drive works fine and she’ll climb anything you want. Will trade for motorcycle, project OK plus $$$ Maybe for a 4 door family car, but that’s about it, no 420, no electronics etc.”

“1947 never any rust. always garaged, 22000 original miles. This is the civilian model of the WWII jeep. Original and running well !”
Here’s a neat friction Surrey Jeep.

Here we have an awesome tin friction car modeled after some old Jeep, not sure of the exact model. Friction motor was locking up at first but appears fine now and seems to work alright. Looks like there may have been a top over the passenger compartment at one time as there are six of the typical tin holes for extra parts to fit into on the rear of the jeep and the windshield frame. Overall great condition, might need some cleaning in the tight areas and does show some minimal wear. No maker mark or country of origin stamp on this one. Totally excellent jeep!!”

This image was drawn by Robert W. Huzzard. His suggestion won a prize about how a1/4 ton might be converted into an ambulance. The drawing is part of a magazine article I will be posting tomorrow night.

This is unusual.
“Here is a very unique matchbook with JEEP on the front….with the exception of some, dare I say idiot, putting a sticker on the front, this matchbox is in GOOD condition overall…..on the binding edge of the box it says: Mario da Silva Cravo S/A, Salvador-Bahia……on the back side there are some embossed words also that say: Couro Genuinem, Ernesto Rothschild, S. Paulo, Pat. Reg…measures 2 1/4 x 1 1/2 inches and is about 1/2 inch thick……pretty neat!”

Greg wants to add full floater hubs to his rig, but needs a couple items.
He writes, “Looking for a floater kit or pieces to make my rear D44 CJ axle a floater for flat towing. I’m using Dualmatic locking hubs up front, and have two additional spare sets I’ll use to build the back hubs. Primarily just need the axles if anyone may have a spare set. Or perhaps someone has a long one I can cut down, and respline for the long side, then I’ll use my long side to cut for the short one.”
