About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
“1948 Willys Jeep CJ 2A project. 289 Ford small block. Original running gear. Tub has some rust, definitely a project. $1800.00 OBO would be willing to trade for quad or boat. Mike cell 503-369-5343 hm”
“This jeep proudly and unselfishly gave it’s heart to keep a nice old army jeep alive a little longer. Now I have the complete body and frame with a rear bed full of spare parts. The tires are brand new with just a couple of miles on them to drive it here for surgery. There is a f-head 134 four cylinder engine that goes with this project. I have the radiator, an extra hood, basically every thing to complete it. I do not have a title for it, so bill of sale – parts only- kind of thing. I am told it has the ID number still plated on the frame. There is a roll bar, diamond plate corners, diamond plate “running boards” that reinforce the fender and lower tub. Windshield needs glass. Seats are faded, but useable for awhile longer. I may have extra axles, etc . also. Calls only please. I am still getting spam from the last time I replied to an ad with my email address.”
“For Sale, 1948 Willys Jeep CJ2 with a soft top: 39,000 actual miles, original engine, runs great and also have the original spare tire., no rust very solid a great vehicle for pulling behind your motor and desert driving or mountain driving. this is a four wheel drive. Asking 4500.00 OBO call Brent at 1-218-947-4640 or cell number is 1-218-838-0947 you will not be dissappointed with this vehicle. come and test drive it.”
Lots of rust here. I’m gonna guess this is a CJ-3A only based on the windshield (but that’s hardly conclusive).
“I have what “experts” have told me is a 1949 Willys CJ-2A. This thing is in rough shape. It was my grandfathers, one of those projects we would get to next summer, if you know what I mean. He left it to me and it’s sat in my garage for a couple years now. I lack the money and the experience to complete this project on my own, and I have finally brought myself to part with it. The engine starts, but won’t idle properly and the body is shot to hell. The tranny is solid as is the frame. The pictures show it without the top or the hood, both of which go with it. You can see the overall condition from the pictures below. There’s a lot of rust, all but one tire is dry rotted (though the spare looks passable). This is a fixer-upper, don’t expect to drive it out of here. The buyer must arrange for transportation.
Email me or text/call 740-317-7020. Leave a message with your number if you don’t get an answer. Feel free to ask any questions or request specific pics. $1000 OBO”
“THIS IS A 1964 NELLY BELL JEEP. THIS ONE IS RARE WITH THE ORIGINAL HARD TOP. THIS WAS MY GRAND FATHERS AND WE ARE JUST NOW GETTING AROUND TO CLEANING UP. THIS HAS NO FRAME RUST BUT DOES NEED SOME WORK. IT DOES CRANK AND RUN. ALL OFFERS WILL BE REVIEWED. CALL RODNEY AT 903 641 2448.”
(04/15/2010) There’s been some body work done on that.
“1948 willys jeep runs perfect on new engine(original 4 cylinder) needs a brake master cylinder but everything else is in running condition 832-646-0408″
(03/06/2010) Is the radiator in a ’59 supposed to be mounted at an angle? It looks like a fine truck.
“1959 Willys Flatbed, Chevy V-8 powered with Chevy 4-speed truck transmission. Strong running truck. 4X4, tow bar, winch, good tires. $3,500.00 OBO. Call Bob at (360) 837-3310.”
“Model VJ Phaeton Convertible with original “go devil” 4 cylinder engine and 3 on the tree transmission with factory optional overdrive. All mechanicals have been rebuilt/restored with just over 400 miles driven since. It is a very smooth running and driving car. This is a 1949 model with production figures of only 5,845 built that year, and only 19,132 built over the 3 years of production. This one sports a yellow paint job with yellow and black interior. The top is in excellent condition as are all the side windows. Contact Bruce at 806-265-seventy one twenty one for more information.”
This truly deserves a longer story, but the coffee shop will close soon and I need to eat & to get back on the road to Boise. A Big THANKS to Josh for alerting me to this opportunity!
Yes, tonight I bought 3 Austin Champs. It turns out one of them is a Royal Marines RN Champ. There are only 3 of these know in existence (it’s the gray one). You can see some big pics here.
