Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “I have a 1946 Willys jeep that I disassembled years ago and started to restore. This is pretty much a complete jeep, including seats, fenders,grill, windshield, as well as some extra parts (tire chains, etc). The price includes over $600 worth of new parts I had planned to use (new brake master cylinder, new gas tank, new wiper motor, new front bumper, and several other parts). “This was a project, totally rebuilt by my husband. Sadly he doesnt drive it anymore and it really deserves more dignity than sitting in the driveway. It will run, needs one part replaced (I believe an oil filter but my husband can give you ALL specs on this gem). All work done by my husband, who is a mechanic by trade.

“Has been converted to a Buick nailhead 425 engine. Warn overdrive, koening power takeoff winch. Vehicle has been in storage for many years. Runs but needs some engine work. Good rubber, good body, good interior. Solid cab with no rust, but bed has rusted areas.”

“Mid 50s willys jeep 2wd setup for dirt drag racing. Has 8 point roll cage, aluminum racing seat, 12 bolt chevelle rearend with ladder bars and 31″ cut boggers on beadlocks, clip car step-tube headers, midplate, setup for sbc and longtail turbo 350 transmission. Isn’t the front bumper mounted upside down? Not that it is a big deal, but just wondering.
“This 1946 jeep has to be seen to be appreciated. It has had everything replaced from wiring to brake lines. The emergency brake has been completely rebuilt and has the original 134 engine that has also been rebuilt. All new gauges, fuel tank ,fuellines, lights, tires, and rhino lined under and inside. It also has a roll bar. The upholestry needs to be replaced but I have a place in Texas that does the original front and rear. You really must see this to appreciate. ”
