Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. It’s a project, a highly custom one.
“47 willy jeep almost complete about 90%. Has a 4.3 chevy motor, turbo 400 tranny, has lifted about a 12″ strech, 6″ toyta running gears, 35″ tires, new frame 2×3 sq tube, Whats left to be done is fuel tank, drive lines,wiring, tranny cooler and steering gear box, seats i do have are the original seats that came from the jeep and need to be redone and needs to be painted. i have invested over 5,000.”

Original tub. Looks well restored.
“Hi, I will give this a try…..I have a 1946 restored Willys CJ2-A that was done about 3 years ago. It was a 5 year project that was fully pulled apart and gone thru. It was done to original with details taken into account. It has repro front fenders, tailgate and windshield. The tub is original with welded in panels where needed. Every thing was but-welded with no over-laps, no pop rivets, not hacked. It was done right to look right and to last….no rust left! Original bolts were saved, cleared and installed where ever possible. It looks as good underneath as on the outside! It has the T-90 3 speed rebuilt, L-134 engine and the Warn overdrive. New brakes and lines, like original wiring harness etc. Too much to list. Original vacuum wipers, gauges and 6 volt electrical system with generator. It starts easy and the lights are bright at night. I am having knee problems and have a hard time with the clutch and brake up-setting my knees.
This looks good on the outside (though the tailgate appears a little odd). The cab needs some work and wiring.

“i have a 1946 willys cj2a for sale. It has the original 134 L block. runs good just rebuilt the carb. New fuel pump and fuel lines, new brakes all the way around, repacked wheel bearings, new brake cylinders, new brake lines in front, new tail lights, new shackles, new floor boards, new engine wiring, new windsheild, new tie rod ends, have original wheels for it. Body work done on drivers side, the cowl, and the fenders, primed with feather fill 2k primer, the passenger side still needs the body work done to it. Right now it has a spring over axel lift on it, it can be taken off i havnt welded anything in solid yet. can send pictures my phone wont let me load them. Call 208-582-2OO7.
