“1952 willys jeep 4X4, Motor good, needs starter and battery, for the right trade I will fix. Would like to get a nice larger farm 4 wheeler, UTV, or pair of smaller four wheelers, but will consider anything. Will have to file for lost title to drive on the road. I used it on my farm. Excellent for hunting or mudding. ”
Bruce uncovered this unusual reference to Mexico’s Tourist Patrol Service. I believe this group is also referred to as the Angeles Verdes (Green Angels). According to a 2003 book, the Patrol Service still exists; However, I’ve been fortunate enough not to have had to need it. I tried to find some historical photographs showing jeeps, but didn’t have any luck.
Paul reports from Alaska . . .
“Pickup trucks are very popular here in the northland so what do you do when you have to haul a motorcycle and you drive a two door sedan? Not a problem! Grab the saw of your choice and it’s conversion time. Heck, winter won’t be for another three months so there’s no worries. We don’t need no steenkin safety nannies to tell us what to do! Just another example of thinking outside the bag. I took this picture four years ago while I was out cruising with the top down, I figured a picture would be easier to believe than any description I could come up with.”
This “original MB” appears to have a variety of CJ parts, too, including the frame, fenders, bumpers, and more. Lots of pics.

Rob spotted this priceless creation. It runs and drives and plows, which is more than can be said about some jeeps.

“Thanks for looking. I have a 1948 Willy’s CJ2A Jeep for sale. It is clean. I took it bear hunting during a snow storm up here in Globe, AZ. I will repost clean pics this wknd. I just moved and can’t find my camera inamy stuff. I won’t lie, the body is good. The floor is bad. You can see the ground from inside the tub. The engine runs good. It does really well off road. I had a st steel gas tank built for it. Holds about 9 gallons. I have 31×10.50x15s on it. Has reapolstered cj5 seats in the front and the back seat is in serious need of repair. I am in need of cash. I am asking $2000 obo.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $500
This includes a grille and fenders.
“I’m selling a 1942 Willys Jeep tub with title. Tub is a GPW which is very similar to an MB. This was a trail Jeep that I dismantled in order to use most of the parts on a different Jeep. Being a trail Jeep it has more than it’s fair share of bumps, bruises and modifications. Use your own drivetrain and axles and make a cool rock crawler or sand Jeep. If you’re looking for a Jeep to restore to original condition, I’m sure you can find a better candidate than this one.
Provide your name and phone number in your e-mail or I will not respond.
This is what is included:
Tub, fenders, hood, grill, headlights, 12 gallon RCI fuel cell, frame, title with registration good until September. After September it will be on non-op status.
Here are some of the things that are not included:
Engine, tranny, transfer case, axles, windshield. I do have a few miscellaneous items I could throw in depending on what you need for whatever you’re going to make of it.
The title stays with the tub and frame. I’m not selling any of the parts separately at this time. And just to save us all some time, the no haggle price is $500. No trades or other offers will be considered.
Provide your name and phone number in your e-mail or I will not respond.
More pictures available.”
