About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
UPDATE: Still Available. More pics at the link below.
(01/03/2009) While there’s some surface rust, it doesn’t appear to me that there is much rust around the doors. The fact that it starts and runs is worth something!
“1959 Willy’s Jeep FC 170. All original, 3 sp trans w/Super Hurricane 6 cyl, 9ft bed, approx 68,000 miles; Has some glass/weather stripping; Needs brake work, Always Starts, Runs Great.”
I made some more progress with the engine today. I managed to get the oil to finally stop exiting the dipstick hole. The cause was, as I suspected, related to the crankcase pressure. So, I spent some time fiddling with the PVC and breather system.
First, I bought a new PCV valve. Next, I connected the valve cover ‘breathers’ together with the intake breather and fed them into the aircleaner. Now that the pressure is a bit more equalized, the oil stopped getting pushed out the dip stick hole.
So one problem down, but now a new one. The air getting cycled into the air cleaner was ‘dirty’ enough that it was affecting performance a bit. However, I’m hoping once I get the new jets for the carb, it will stop burning so rich, which will clean up the system. That’s the theory anyway.
While I was researching breathing systems, I learned a bit of history about the PCV Valve. It turns out that PCV valves were invented during WWII to enable tanks to ford deep water and still have their systems breath appropriately. Following the war, someone at the GM plant where the PCV Valves were built realized they could help combat some smog issues. You can learn more about this at Wikipedia.
Brett spotted this Welder. These are usually priced between $800 – $1200, so this appears to be a good price (if the fix is easy).
“Hobart Welder. 250 Amp 40 Volt. Willys engine. Welder was not making power when machine was parked. But the Willys jeep engine still ran. no emails. Please call 435-632-2415”
A reader named Steve is looking for a MB Grille, a Roll Cage that will fit a M-38 and a set of Ford V8 Headers that will also fit a M-38. Steve lives in Indiana. If you have any of these items, you can contact Steve at muddin61@yahoo.com.
This looks like a pretty nice M-38 with good accessories for the price.
“For Sale: 1950 Willis Jeep. This is a Korean War vintage military jeep. I have owned this jeep for over 23 years. It comes with a canvas top. $6,500.- with radios or $6,000.- without radios. I have more pictures if you are interested”

I’m not sure there’s much to salvage, though the transfercase knobs look good.
“This is a 1952 Military style jeep, model 452-GB1. Willy’s Overland Jeep. Has a original 40hp 4cyclinder hurricane engine. 4wd Drivetrain complete. On tires and wheels for towing. (315)- 383-2274.”

The seller explains why this was painted pink. Looking past the pink color and it appears this CJ-2A is in excellent condition.
“1947 Willys CJ 2A – two tone hot pink. This flat fender Army Jeep runs great and is lots of fun. It has been kept in a garage or under shelter for the last 8 years. It has been converted from the original 6 volt system to 12 volts and has new breaks on it. It is an eye catching head turning vehicle they people go crazy over taking pictures of it with their cell phones and cirling back to get another look at it. It was painted hot pink by the previous owner in KC who modeled it after Elvis’ jeep he saw at Graceland. The exact milage is unknown.”
The rear part of the body is from a CJ-5 or M-38a1.
“’42/’43 Model. Front and rear body are different model but match nearly perfect. Motor runs great (starts easily, does not smoke). Drive train is OK, but shows some wear. Body is rough but no rust. I have title. I have used it as a ranch/hunting vehicle and is perfect for it.”
“1950 Willys Jeepster, title is a 46. This is a quick little car, that runs great, steers and stops like it should. No frills just a cool little drop top driver. I bought it as a basket case and replaced or rebuilt pretty much the entire car. This car is made to drive, no bull, just you the road and a V8 growl out the back from three inch pipes. You can spend time driving or waxing, if you’re a waxer car show guy, this is not your kind of car. I completed the car three years ago and it is 100% dependable.
