(03/24/2012) The engine needs some work.
“I’m selling my 1950 Jeep Willys CJ-3A. It’s been in the family for quite a few years. I’ve personally owned the vehicle since 2006.
The Jeep Runs and drive but it doesn’t drive too good because the motor needs tuned up, and the clutch needs fixed as you will see from the description below.
The Jeep needs quite a lot of work.
1. The engine needs a tune up, new spark plugs, etc. The timing is off a little.
2. Engine is overheating, it just shuts off when it gets too hot, but the head gasket is NOT blown.
3. Something is wrong with the clutch could be any component such as the linkage, pressure plate, etc. I have no clue what the source of the problem is.
4. Probably needs new gaskets for the differentials and the transfer case because there is a tiny leak of gear oil now and then.
5. Gas tank has a leak somewhere but you can’t actually visibly see gas leaking from the tank and dropping onto the ground.
6. Speedometer and odometer do not work.
7. The front end possibly needs rebuilt, a family member told me this by looking at it.
8. I believe these are all of the problems, but I’m not a mechanic, so I don’t know for certain.
Please remember this is an older vehicle, and everything on it is obviously old and not in perfect, ideal operating condition. The Jeep drives and handles quite well considering the fact that it is a 4×4 and a rugged stout Jeep.
4 WHEEL DRIVE WORKS, transfer case engages, hubs lock in, etc.
The motor is not original. It is a V6 from a 1973 Mercury Capri, and it has a Motorcraft two barrel carburetor. It also has a few new parts, nothing really major just little parts here and there such as a new electric fuel pump, new ignition coil.
DUAL EXHAUSTS WITH GLASSPACK MUFFLERS!! IT DOESN’T SOUND TOO BAD!!!
Tires are 33×12.5 BFG all terrains in the back, the two tires in front are just generic all terrains. Tires are older, but they are in good condition and have a lot of tread left on them.
American Racing Wheels.
Bucket Seats up front, bench in the back.
4-point racing harnesses for front bucket seats.
Body is in great condition, but not perfect. No Bondo or any hack jobs.
Full size mounted and balanced spare tire that is pretty old, and four new shocks go with the vehicle.
I would love for this Jeep to go to somebody who wants to own an awesome, one of a kind American made vehicle.
Clean Arizona title. It is ready to sell right now! THE Jeep is not currently registered.
$5100.00 OR BEST OFFER.
Please make me a fair offer. ALL REASONABLE OFFERS WILL DEFINITELY BE CONSIDERED. HIGHLY MOTIVATED SELLER!!!!”

“1953 Willys Wagon Project truck. Body is in pretty good condition. Does have some rust around the rear wheel wells. Has a Chrysler slant 6 motor (unknown condition). No transmission or transfer case. Clear Washington Title. In Eastern Oregon. More pictures on request. Other Willys wagon and truck parts available.”
No pics provided. I believe the latest known production date for a DJ-3A is 1965, so not sure what this is. Given the seller thinks the engine is a ‘1945 CJ3A’, it will takes some pics to sort this out.
“I have a 1967 DJ3A that needs to go, it was a project that never got done so it’s in pieces thats why I am selling as parts. ALL must go in one lot, this was the standard 2wd version with a flat head. I also have the drive train minus the engine of a 45 CJ3A. Sorry I do not have pictures to share right now”
UPDATE: These parts were donated to a church for sale by the church. They have been sold. They were $900.
I’ve been busily working on the eWillys App, learning more than I care to know about Phonegap, JSON, YQL, jquery mobile, and more.
I can’t wait to get back to writing rather than programming!
UPDATE: Still Available.
