Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. A couple small tears in the back, but otherwise look good.
“I have a set of original seats which came out of a 1949 Willys Jeepster in good condition. You can tell from the pictures there are two fairly large tears in the top of the back seat but otherwise they are in good shape. Includes front drivers seat and small passenger seat plus both top and bottom of the back seat. I have no additional hardware that isn’t pictured or attached to the seats but all mounting brackets appear to be intact. Asking $400 or best offer. Perfect for restoring to original!”

“Hi I have a late forties early fifty willys jeep runs has Chevy for cylinder in it with adapter plate from advance adapters to bolt to the original trans and tcase in those models it’s a ranch jeep not title on it but one could be gotten for it body is not in to bad of shape needs wrk has power steering box on it but no pump yet it starts and drives for wheel drive works and everything lookin to trade for a ranch quad or gator or anything smaller preferably four wheel drive”

I’m curious to know if the plaque from 1954 on the dash reflects a motor pool upgrade.
“Original 1943 Military Jeep/ Willys Has all old equipment. Plaques on dash show origin and second plaque shows military update in 1954 to overhead carb. Hood has square box they made to accommodate it. Good tires, upholstery, engine, tranny and brakes all professionally gone over. Needs gas pump.”
This looks pretty solid.
“1946 CJ2A Willys Jeep. A frame off amateur restoration about ten years ago with a lot of new parts added in that time frame. The electrical system and starter has been converted to a 12 volt system. The jeep was inspected last year and drove last year. I purchased a CJ7 recently and need to get rid of this one for a reasonable price. $4600 or best reasonable offer. Narrowed dana 60 front end and narrowed corporate 14 bolt rear end, power 4 way disc brakes, cross over steering, detroit lockers front and rear, new sheet metal, sm 465 4 speed and a dana 300 transfer case,new drive lines, small block chevrolet , new aluminum radiator,4 new rubicon express spring over springs, and much more. All body work done ready for paint.This is a project,its not a runner yet,its about 70% done,needs someone with more motivation and time than I have for it. $7500 Thanks for looking”

(10/04/2011) Sounds like it has plenty of power. It could really use the back cage braces though (for my taste anyway).

(11/06/08) I’m really surprised that a jeep like this doesn’t have a roll bar or a cage, given the extras it does have. It’s also rare to see one with four terra tires on it, though the left front one looks a bit low. Given the body is rough, I suspect the price will drop.
