About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
The seller only wants $10 for this ad. I suspect there aren’t many of these ads out there. It appeared in the July 22, 1948, edition of the Cleveland Plain Dealer.
UPDATE: September has arrived; this is only 9 days away!
Just never a week from the FC Jamboree in Lake Mills, Iowa. Dan welcomes all jeep FC’s in ANY condition, running or not!! This year Smoking Joe’s will be providing lunch on Saturday.
It’s been a long two months, but the bunkhouse exterior remodel is almost done. In the last week I have finished up the side deck and the front step. Unfortunately, the first time I installed the front step posts I was off by half an inch on one side and an inch on the other. So, I had to dig them up and re-position them. Ugh … anyway, I got everything fixed yesterday.
Yesterday, instead of doing updates, I felt my age as I moved 65 bales of hay in 95 degree heat from the neighbor’s pasture to our place. It proved to be a good workout! We’ll likely buy all of his next batch (last cutting of the year) as well, making us well-stocked for the winter.
Tom Cruze has been a busy body. Here he is checking our the huge nectarines that have emerged (to our surprise). It seems trimming the tree this spring did wonders for both the nectarines and the peaches (also much bigger than last year).
When not climbing, Tom Cruze continues to be “one of the dogs”. Here he is showing the girls how tough he is. He’s also begun accompanying the girls outside to close the gate (a nightly excuse to take the girls for a walk). The first pic is pre-mayhem:
“‘47 Willys CJ2A with a Kubota v2203 turbo diesel engine swap. I used an Overland diesel swap kit. http://overlanddiesel.com/ It has the stock 3 speed T-90 transmission and Dana 18 transfer case, front lock right locker with locking hubs and an open rear end. Front disc brakes. Everything works and it works well on the roads. You could drive it home but the gears limit top speed. I have a ton of spare parts that will go with it for the right price.”
“Custom built 48 Willys CJ2A, ground up build, only things untouched are hood and tailgate. Fully boxed in frame, shackle reverse in front, custom lift, lifted springs in rear, spring over in front. 31″ of suspension travel. Dana 44 with spool in rear, Dana 30 with locker in front, 456 gears. Warn full floater axel conversion in rear with premium Warn hubs all the way around. Disc brake conversion front and rear. Custom built diff. guards. Rebuilt dana 18 transfer case. GM 350 4 bolt main, turbo 350 trans, engine has 10K miles, trans rebuilt. B&M shifter custom gauges, leather bucket seats, full roll cage, dual batteries, on-board air compressor, 8000 lb Mile Marker winch, GM tilt wheel, power steering conversion, under body rock lights, off-road lights, 20-gallon fuel cell. custom built half doors, custom built front and rear bumpers and full soft top, 35″ Toyo MT tires. To many custom mods to list. Motor was low mile used motor, everything else new or rebuilt with less than 8k miles. Serious off-roader. This jeep will leave your buddy’s behind on the trail plus get you a ton of compliments when you drive it on the road. Serious inquiries only, also willing to trade for newer gen muscle car”
“Well darn I have way too many projects and hope these could be put together and make one real nice FC. I have two FC 150s narrow track for sale. the green one is a 1957 , oregon title in my name, head off and missing, no box but otherwise fairly complete. Windshield in good and not much rot. good east Oregon unit. the other one is I think about the same year, rot in corners, no engine , extra trans and transfer, no glass NO title on that one. $ 7500 for the pair. I am not interested in selling just one. If I keep them and get the time I will build one out of the two. Firm on price.”
