UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $3250. Larger pics added. To call it “era correct” is a stretch given the front tow bar, the diamond plating on the floor, the incorrect windshield and more. However, there is some value here given the trailer, extra windshield, and tires.
(12/30/2011) The trailer needs a new wiring harness.
“Best OFFER TAKES BOTH. I am not crazy enough to think these vehicles are worth 15K but I do not think you will find a era correct pair ANYWHERE else and so here is your chance to own some classic Americana. Text best offer and lets get this going.
Here are the details, trailer and jeep will not be split up as they go together in this sale. Both have CLEAN TITLES IN HAND.
Jeep and trailer are in great condition for their age. The Jeep has an original flathead 4 cylinder motor and runs great. The trailer is complete however, needs a new wiring harness. I have been using a magnetic light tow package for ease of not having to install new lights but other than that you will not find a more nimble and strong trailer anywhere for with this jeep/trailer package. I also have an extra windshield and cowl (windshield broken) and 4 original slim lines rims and tires included.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $5400
(06/27/2010) “1946 Willies Jeep Rebuilt 4 Cylinder motor Chevy. Tilt steering, bucket seats. Some original parts available. Can go back to original easily. Runs excellent. All new seals, brakes lines. Rebuilt transmission transfer.”
UPDATE: Status Unknown. Was $5800.
(09/15/2012) This has a rear PTO. The drain holes have been filled. It has a later model tailgate. Other than that it looks like a good restoration candidate once the price drops.
“All original 1951 Willys Jeep with new top. Top was removed from box once and replaced. 4-cylinder flathead. PTO winch, Straight body, new carb, new radiator, excellent tranny, Warren hubs, runs great.”
UPDATE: Oopos .. managed to forget the link to the cj2a page.
A reader pointed me over to the CJ-2A page where there is a video of a cool MBish mower. Not wanting to just snag the video, I thought I’d do a search and landed on the mini-beep.html page. It turns out they’ve been around since the 1960s! Head on over to the CJ-2A page to see the video.
UPDATE: Eric shared some early pictures of his work.
This summer my cousin Eric bought a CJ-2A in Idaho and trucked it back to his new home in Enumclaw. This was his first jeep and it has been disassembled, now awaiting assembly. It seems the Willys but has bit him, because he while waiting to assemble his CJ-2A, he bought a 1978 CJ-5 project that needed some cosmetic work. He recently got that together and it looks pretty good. I really like the copper color. Between our busy schedules I have yet to see this in person, but I hope to soon.
No pics provided.
“Complete willy’s jeep,4cyl. flat head. BEST OFFER.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $3200.
Matching numbers and engine cranks over.
“I bought this not too long ago, but bills have come up and something has to go. This jeep is very complete. The data plates, frame and even original ford engine all match! The engine turns over. I had the starter rebuilt. New plugs, wires and coil. I got the engine cranking, but can’t get it to fire. I think it’s a timing issue? There are tons of F marked items. Many original parts. Bows and brackets, all 5 combat rims, spare tire holder, sparton horn, fuel strainer etc… Sorry, but no rear seat. The main issue is the body which is rusted out around the gun mount area and gas tank. The original gas tank is here, but it is rusted through in spots. Looks like this jeep was never repainted. The hood numbers are here as well as the rear panel stars. I went through all the pain and paperwork and got a bonded title on this. YES YOU READ THAT RIGHT. THIS HAS A TRANSFERABLE TITLE IN MY NAME.”
This runs and drives.
